Overview

The Family Advocate II provides direct access to Southeast Early Head Start (EHS) services in the center and in the home. This position helps families’ access resources to ensure their children receive appropriate early education experiences and works closely with families and fosters participant independence. The incumbent will assist with participant recruitment efforts; collect and maintain data; assist families with paperwork completion; facilitate groups; and lead activities.

Responsibilities

1. Work as part of a team to support and implement the Wee Cuddle and Grow attachment-based and trauma-responsive model of care.2. Coordinate parent and family engagement activities, including educational workshops, events, and resource distribution.3. Assist with outreach to identify and recruit eligible Early Head Start participants and support families through the enrollment process, including collecting and completing required forms.4. Facilitate in-person home visits with assigned participant per program/academic year. 5. Conduct family and child assessments, screenings, and surveys, including the Strengths and Needs Assessment, ASQ:SE, DECA, Safe Sleep, Pedestrian Safety, parent surveys, and other required tools. Review assessment results and actively participate in case reviews to identify family strengths, address concerns, coordinate services, and support goal planning. Ensure families are connected to appropriate community resources and services and provide ongoing follow-up to monitor progress and support family well-being.6. Partner with participants to develop, monitor, and revise Family Partnership Agreements (FPAs), and assist families in accessing resources, services, and activities that support family goals, self-sufficiency, and overall well-being.7. Support and participate in program governance activities, including planning, coordinating, and facilitating Parent Committee and Policy Committee meetings, while encouraging parent leadership and engagement.8. Complete and maintain updated participant family records and documentation related to various services (Health, Dental, Attendance, Enrollment) in Parent Binders and GoEngage database. Maintain accurate and updated child and family goal progress and case notes.9. Collaborate with colleagues on the EHS team to ensure continuity of service.10. Attend and actively participate in meetings and training as required.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:Must possess and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certification.

EDUCATION:• Associate’s degree in social work, Human Services, Family Studies, Early Childhood Education, or a related field required. • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:• 4 years of experience in family support, service coordination, case management, or a related human services field.• Previous experience working with families and children ages 0-3, required.• Experience with in-home visits and services preferred.• Experience working with Spanish speaking populations desired.

Minimum pay range

USD $36,955.98/Yr.

Maximum pay range

USD $60,296.50/Yr.
