Background
Work closely with co-workers, supervisor, and senior manager to account for settlement of Plains Marketing L.P.’s barrel movements.
Essential Functions
Preparation of Settlement Confirmation Schedules by updating internal database
Utilize Settlement Confirmation Schedules to communicate amounts due from and due to
customers assigned, and confirm the netting position
Identify and follow up on discrepancies with customers and forward to Contracts or Crude Oil
Accounting department
Communicate volume and price information that may require accruals be made by Crude Oil
Accounting department
Reconcile confirmed net amounts with the Master Reconciliation
Reconcile aged accounts receivable/trade accounts payable for assigned customers
Update Control Log to identify discrepancies in a timely manner
Distribute sales invoices and royalty check detail to assigned accountants
Update crude oil prices and gravity in an accurate and timely manner
Obtain documents requested by auditors
Prepare related party disclosure schedules
Maintain procedural documentation on a current basis
Be willing to work overtime during the monthly close
Work with minimal supervision in all aspects of job
Requirements
Accounting/Auditing or Finance degree required. Knowledge and understanding of crude oil business is helpful.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate orally an in writing with all levels of management.
Team player and responsible individual who takes initiative/ownership in all areas of work.
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word required.
Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference check.
Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.
