Job Description
As a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer – Credit, you will play a pivotal role in assuring the quality, performance, and integrity of OM Bank’s credit platforms and decisioning systems. You will design, implement, and execute automated test solutions for APIs, UI components, and credit workflows — ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless integration with external credit bureaus such as TransUnion and Experian.This role requires strong technical automation skills, in-depth understanding of credit lifecycle processes, and the ability to collaborate across agile teams to deliver high-quality, reliable financial solutions.
KEY RESULT AREAS
Test Design & Execution
• Design, develop, and execute end-to-end functional, integration, and regression test cases across credit origination, decisioning, and servicing workflows.
• Develop and maintain API automation frameworks using Karate (primary), and UI automation using Selenium or Cucumber.
• Validate credit bureau integrations (TransUnion, Experian) ensuring data accuracy, correct bureau response handling, and decisioning logic compliance.
• Perform test data setup and validation for complex credit scenarios including scoring, rule evaluation, and limit assignment.
• Maintain structured test artefacts, ensuring full traceability from requirements to execution and defect resolution.
Automation & Continuous Integration
• Build scalable automation frameworks that integrate seamlessly with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab).
• Implement API regression suites and automate critical credit functions across environments.
• Enhance automation coverage, introduce reusable libraries, and maintain stable nightly test runs.
• Integrate test automation reporting into QA dashboards and support shift-left testing practices.
Collaboration & Governance
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Developers to define acceptance criteria and quality gates.
• Partner with external vendors and bureaus to validate credit data exchange, system performance, and SLA adherence.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies, defect triage sessions, and release readiness reviews.
• Ensure all QA deliverables comply with audit and regulatory standards.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Technical Expertise
• 6–10 years of QA experience, with at least 3+ years in the Credit or Banking domain.
• Strong hands-on experience in API automation using Karate Framework (preferred), Postman, or REST Assured.
• Working knowledge of UI automation using Selenium, Appium, or Cucumber (BDD).
• Proven experience in credit bureau integrations (TransUnion, Experian) and understanding of their response codes and XML/JSON structures.
• Familiarity with credit decisioning engines, eligibility models, and rule-based scoring.
• Exposure to microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab), Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket), and AWS environments.
• Knowledge of SAS platforms or analytics-driven credit scoring advantageous.
Domain & Business Knowledge
• Deep understanding of credit lifecycle processes — origination, underwriting, servicing, and collections.
• Awareness of regulatory compliance, data privacy, and risk management principles in the banking sector.
• Strong test data management and validation capability for decisioning systems.
Education & Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• ISTQB Certification (Foundation or Advanced) preferred.
• Agile/Scrum or API Automation certification advantageous.
•AWS Cloud Practitioner or equivalent beneficial.
