Heavy Equipment Operator

Central Transfer & Recycle Center (CRC), a Waste Connections company, is looking to hire a highly motivated & safety driven, Heavy Equipment Operator, to work at our Central Transfer Station in Vancouver, WA.

Pay range is $28.00/HR with and increase to $29.00/HR after 90-days pending a positive performance review.

Schedule is Wednesday-Sunday

Shift is 

• 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
• 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Saturday, Sunday

Safety Sensitive: Yes

Qualified candidates must have 938 CAT Loader, 308 CAT Excavator, Forklift, Backhoe, Yard Truck and 53ft chassis/ Trailer experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• REQUIRES ability to efficiently & safely operate 938 CAT Loader, 308 CAT Excavator, Forklift, Backhoe, Yard Truck and 53ft chassis/ Trailer experience.
• Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment is required.
• Knowledge of basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels.
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

 MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 500-hours of Heavy Equipment Operating experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Heavy Equipment Operating certification from an accredited trade school preferred.
• Basic knowledge of computer skills.
• Pre-employment requirements for this safety sensitive position include drug panel screening, motor vehicle report, & criminal background check.
