Job Description
Role Summary
The Senior Vice President, Deposits Product Management is responsible for defining and driving the strategic direction, growth, and profitability of the Bank's deposits portfolio. The incumbent will lead the management and development of Affluent and Pricing Deposit products, overseeing portfolio performance, product innovation, customer acquisition strategies, pricing optimization, and customer experience across all channels.
The role partners closely with Retail Banking, Digital Banking, Sales & Distribution, Customer Franchise, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams to deliver sustainable business growth while ensuring strong governance and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Product Leadership
- Develop and execute the deposits product strategy to drive portfolio growth, customer acquisition, market share expansion, and profitability.
- Lead the strategic management of Affluent and Pricing Deposit products, ensuring alignment with the Bank's overall retail banking and customer franchise objectives.
- Identify emerging market trends, customer needs, and competitive opportunities to develop innovative product propositions and enhance customer value.
- Drive the product roadmap and long-term growth strategy for the deposits business.
Business & Financial Management
- Own and drive product P&L, balance growth, revenue generation, pricing strategy, and overall portfolio profitability.
- Formulate and implement pricing, promotional, and acquisition strategies to optimize customer acquisition, retention, and wallet share.
- Monitor business performance, customer trends, and portfolio analytics to identify growth opportunities and recommend strategic actions.
- Establish and manage key business performance indicators and deliver targeted business outcomes.
Customer Journey & Digital Transformation
- Drive end-to-end customer journey enhancements across onboarding, servicing, engagement, and transactional experiences.
- Partner with Digital Banking and Technology teams to accelerate digital adoption and improve customer experience.
- Champion customer-centric design and innovation to improve acquisition, engagement, and retention outcomes.
Stakeholder Management & Business Partnership
- Work closely with Channels, Sales & Distribution, Customer Segmentation, Marketing, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Technology teams to deliver business objectives.
- Influence and align senior stakeholders on strategic initiatives, business priorities, and investment decisions.
- Partner with frontline sales teams to drive product penetration, customer acquisition, and portfolio growth.
Governance, Risk & Regulatory Management
- Serve as the Product Owner with accountability for end-to-end product governance and lifecycle management.
- Ensure products, processes, and distribution channels comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk frameworks.
- Lead product reviews, governance forums, policy updates, and risk assessments to maintain a strong control environment.
- Manage audit, compliance, and regulatory engagements relating to the deposits portfolio.
Transformation & Project Management
- Lead strategic and regulatory initiatives affecting the deposits business.
- Oversee large-scale business transformation, digitalization, and process improvement projects.
- Ensure effective execution through close collaboration with business and support functions, delivering projects on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.
People Leadership
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to product managers and cross-functional teams.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on innovation, customer experience, collaboration, and execution excellence.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Banking, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 12-15 years of banking experience, with significant experience in Deposits Product Management, Retail Banking, Consumer Banking, or Affluent Banking.
- Proven track record in managing large deposits portfolios and delivering strong business growth and profitability.
- Deep understanding of deposits products, pricing strategies, balance sheet management, customer acquisition, and product economics.
- Demonstrated experience leading strategic product initiatives, digital transformation, and customer journey optimization programs.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&L and business performance.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to engage senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
- Strong understanding of banking regulations, governance frameworks, and risk management principles.
- Proven leadership experience in managing high-performing teams and delivering complex business initiatives.
Preferred Experience
- Experience managing Affluent Banking, Wealth-linked Deposits, CASA, Fixed Deposits, and Pricing Deposit portfolios.
- Strong knowledge of customer segmentation, digital banking ecosystems, and customer lifecycle management.
- Experience leading regional or multi-market product initiatives will be advantageous.
