Job Description: As a Bistro Cook at Courtyard Memphis Downtown, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items for the Bistro restaurant. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a kitchen environment, possess excellent culinary skills, and be able to work collaboratively with other team members. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas
- Assist with menu planning and development under the guidance of the Food & Beverage Manager
- Adhere to portion control guidelines and minimize waste
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
- Collaborate with the Bistro team to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction
- Follow all proper food handling procedures and brand standards for safety and quality
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Cook in a restaurant or hotel setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Lift and carry heavy items, up to 50 pounds
- Work in a hot kitchen environment
