Freedom Detox with Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a dependable and experienced Full-Time Cook to join our team in Gastonia, NC. If you take pride in preparing quality meals, enjoy working in a professional kitchen, and want a consistent daytime schedule, this is an opportunity to use your skills to make a meaningful difference.

Our kitchen prepares meals for approximately 18–22 clients per meal in a supportive healthcare environment. As our Cook, you will play an important role in providing nutritious, high-quality meals to individuals as they focus on their recovery.

What You'll Do

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized kitchen.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.

• Ensure meals are prepared on time while maintaining quality, consistency, and presentation.

• Follow standardized recipes and portion-control guidelines.

• Prepare meals that accommodate special dietary needs when required.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in accordance with food safety standards.

• Monitor and document food and equipment temperatures.

• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment.

• Receive, rotate, and properly store food and kitchen supplies.

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance concerns promptly.

• Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach when interacting with clients, visitors, and team members.

• Complete required cleaning, inventory, and kitchen documentation.

• Follow all applicable health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

• Participate in required training and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and kitchen safety.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy kitchen environment.

Preferred:

• Five (5) years of kitchen or commercial food service experience.

• Experience working in healthcare, behavioral health, institutional, or high-volume food service.

• ServSafe Certification or willingness to obtain after hire.
