National Carriers, a National Beef Company, is looking for college students ready to explore a career in Logistics to join our family for the summer of 2027 as a Logistics/Operations Summer Intern.

 

Our internship program could jump-start your career in Logistics.   This is an in-person, hands-on experience at our Dodge City, Kansas facility.

 

This is a paid internship.  Housing allowance is included where required.

 

Program length:  10-12 weeks

As a Logistics/Operations Intern you will support National Carriers’ logistics and operations team by helping collect, organize, and track data related to freight movement, inventory, and vendor coordination. This internship is designed to give a current student hands-on, guided exposure to supply chain and operations within the transportation industry.

 

In addition to day-to-day support duties, the Logistics/Operations Intern will complete a project assigned by their supervisor, focused on a current supply chain or operations challenge facing National Carriers. The intern will research the topic, develop findings and recommendations, and deliver a final presentation to the leadership team at the conclusion of the internship.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist in collecting, organizing, and entering logistics and provisioning data into tracking systems and spreadsheets.
• Support tracking freight, equipment, and inventory from origin to delivery under the guidance of senior staff.
• Help monitor vendor and carrier performance metrics, such as on-time delivery and cost.
• Assist with preparing reports and summaries of supply chain activity for review by the provisioning team.
• Shadow and support senior analysts in reviewing logistics processes and identifying potential improvements.
• Help maintain accurate records within logistics and inventory databases.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to build knowledge of supply chain and provisioning operations.
• Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualified Candidates for the Logistics/Operatoins Summer Internship position should possess the following:

• Enrolled and have completed at least two years in an accredited college degree program focusing in one of the following fields of study:
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Logistics
  • Business Management
  • Other related fields may be considered
• Must be classified as a junior for the 2026-2027 academic year
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 in core curriculum classes
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and on-campus involvement
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and be self-directed on project work
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) or similar software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff
• Availability to work 40+ hours per week (some weekend work) on-site for the duration of the internship

Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
