Bookkeeper

Pay: $19.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial operations of a well-established, locally owned business. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounts payable and payroll, completing reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting and tax preparation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software
• Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries and account analysis
• Complete balance sheet and daily bank reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable and ensure timely payments after management approval
• Prepare and submit payroll information accurately and on time to an outsourced payroll provider
• Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements
• Organize financial documentation for CPA and annual workers' compensation audits
• Assist with tax preparation by organizing required financial documentation
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
• Perform accurate data entry and 10-key typing
• Support other accounting and administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP
• Experience with general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Experience performing bank reconciliations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience with accounting software; QuickBooks or similar systems preferred
• Payroll and tax experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and efficiently
