Description

Operations Manager – Mandara Spa at Mohegan Sun
Uncasville, CT

Our journey began on the spiritual island of Bali, where healing arts are passed down from generation to generation — mother to daughter, father to son — and are deeply woven into daily life. Combining that heritage with European techniques, Mandara Spa offers every guest a luxuriously healing experience.

Today, Mandara Spas operate in locations around the world. Each one is unique, shaped by the culture it's part of and the Balinese traditions it comes from. What stays constant is our commitment to guest satisfaction, the healing arts, and a spirit of generosity in every service. Namaste.

About the Role

The Operations Manager helps lead the day spa experience at Mandara Spa – Mohegan Sun. Working closely with the Spa Director, this role drives top-line revenue, manages and coaches spa talent, builds client relationships, and supports membership retention.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the spa concierge and attendant teams to deliver premier service to every OneSpaWorld guest, generating revenue and keeping daily operations running smoothly.
  • Communicate monthly, weekly, and daily promotions to the concierge and technical teams so goals stay top of mind.
  • Coach and motivate the team to increase sales and improve efficiency.
  • Schedule and manage appointments using the spa's operating and POS system (e.g., Book4Time).
  • Conduct retail and professional supply inventory per corporate standards.
  • Handle payroll accurately and on schedule, per corporate timelines.
  • Build concierge and spa attendant schedules.
  • Uphold spa standards — phone etiquette, service excellence, and cleanliness front and back of house.
  • Respond daily to guest satisfaction survey feedback and resolve service issues on-site.
  • Enforce quality control and resolve guest concerns to ensure satisfaction.
  • Resolve staff issues as they arise.
  • Perform opening/closing procedures and cash handling.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) daily, responding to facility needs to keep the guest experience seamless.

What You'll Bring

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • 2+ years working with a POS system (Book4Time or similar spa software) in a hospitality or retail operations role.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a high-volume, customer-service-focused spa environment.
  • Eligible to work in the US.
  • Availability to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, given the cyclical nature of hospitality.

Technical Skills

  • Computer literate, comfortable managing Outlook email and basic office equipment (calculator, fax, printer, copier).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles.

What Sets You Apart

  • Sound, practical decision-making — you find simple solutions to complex problems.
  • A trust-builder who collaborates easily across teams and departments.
  • Strategic thinker who's just as comfortable rolling up your sleeves.
  • Always looking to improve processes, not just maintain them.
  • Plugged into the latest spa, beauty, and wellness trends.
  • Self-motivated — you raise your hand for new challenges and consistently hit your goals.
