Play a key role in keeping Finning’s parts supply chain moving efficiently by sourcing CAT parts, optimizing inventory, and supporting exceptional customer service. In this role, you will make strategic purchasing decisions that balance customer urgency, inventory investment, cost, and lead times to ensure parts are available when and where they are needed.Working closely with branches, inventory planners, and cross-functional teams, you'll use data, analytics, and supply chain expertise to improve sourcing decisions, maintain data integrity, identify process improvements, and enhance overall supply chain performance.

Job Description:
- Order product from CAT to fulfill customer delivery requirement making optimized sourcing decisions by also evaluating internal inventory availability to ensure working capital is optimized while also taking into consideration lead time requirements. .Directly collaborating with branch stakeholders to recommend optimized stocking decisions while also understanding pertinent customer requirements and urgency.
- Generate and distribute procurement reports to management, highlighting key metrics and trends. Follow-up with internal customers regarding delays, errors, and quality issues related to their orders. Recognize and investigate problems with the inventory (i.e. inefficient processes or system settings/parameters), make recommendations to rectify.
- Record cleanup: Regularly review and clean up Infor, PartViz, etc.. records to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Enter and update data in the company's ERP system as required.
- Execute tasks assigned via the supply chain ticketing tool in a prompt, professional and accurate manner.
- Support branches and Finning departments to improve knowledge, understanding of parts procedures and performance to improve overall supply chain effectiveness
- Collaborate with Inventory Planners, Supervisors, Supply Chain group, Branches and cross-functional groups within company to identify and mitigate the issues proactively, performance drivers and limitations, develop solutions and continuously improve the performance of our supply chain. Provide backup to other buyers/roles during vacation, travel, or high volume periods
Qualifications:
- Experience in service, or parts, CAT product knowledge; Experience in Finning Parts Department roles, including warehouse, front counter and inventory control will be of significant value
- The successful candidate will have a post-secondary education - Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business or equivalent experience in a related field
- Experience with Lawson system/MRP is an asset
- Experience or exposure to Transportation and Logistics, Warehousing and Distribution, Contracts Management, Sourcing and Category Management, Master Data Management would be an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills and the ability to set priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Proficient in MS Office applications and advanced level in excel
