Job Description:
Job Summary:**
Hitachi, Ltd. is seeking an experienced and highly analytical Principal Supply Chain Planner to optimize our global supply chain operations. This role is crucial in developing and implementing strategic planning initiatives, ensuring efficient material flow, and driving improvements in service levels and cost efficiency across our complex manufacturing and distribution networks.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Lead the development and execution of end-to-end supply chain planning strategies, including demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, and S&OP processes.
* Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, forecast demand accurately, and optimize inventory levels to meet customer requirements while minimizing holding costs.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, procurement, sales, and logistics teams to ensure seamless execution of supply chain plans.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain, leveraging lean principles and advanced planning tools to enhance efficiency and responsiveness.
* Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain performance, identify root causes of deviations, and implement corrective actions.
* Manage and mentor junior planners, providing guidance and fostering their professional development.
* Evaluate and implement new technologies and systems to enhance planning capabilities and data visibility.
* Prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management on supply chain performance, risks, and opportunities.
* Participate in strategic projects related to supply chain network design, new product introductions, and supplier relationship management.
Job Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
* 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain planning roles, with at least 3-5 years in a senior or principal-level position within a large, complex manufacturing or technology organization.
* Proven expertise in demand forecasting, inventory optimization, production planning, and S&OP processes.
* Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R) and experience with advanced planning systems (e.g., SAP APO, Kinaxis, JDA/Blue Yonder, Oracle SCM).
* Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing supply chain challenges.
* Certification in APICS (CPIM, CSCP) or other relevant supply chain certifications is a plus.
* Experience with global supply chains and international logistics is highly desirable.
