The Credentialing Professional 1 supports clinician compliance by monitoring, verifying, and maintaining professional licenses and certifications. This role performs primary source verifications (PSVs), maintains accurate records, supports audits, and partners with clinicians, leaders, and compliance teams to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform primary source verifications of licenses, certifications, and other required credentials.
  • Monitor clinician credentials to ensure they remain current, active, and compliant with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate credential information and supporting documentation in enterprise systems.
  • Research and resolve licensure issues.
  • Support internal and external audits by gathering and validating documentation.
  • Generate reports, track credential status, and escalate compliance risks as appropriate.
  • Respond to inquiries from clinicians, leaders, and business partners regarding licensure requirements.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and compliance outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in healthcare administration, credentialing, compliance, or related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare credentialing, licensure monitoring, compliance, or audit support.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Experience working with large data sets, reporting tools, and credentialing systems.

Additional information:

  • This role is part of the Variable Staffing Pool( VSP), which pays at an hourly rate. Variable Staffing Pool Humana associates work part to full time hours based on business need. VSPs are not eligible for associate bonuses and receive limited benefits, which are effective upon hire. The hours for this role are generally aligned based on the associate and business task at hand.
  • This role will report to a Credentialing Manager.
  • This role is fully remote within the US.
  • This role is an individual contributor with no direct reports.

Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

 

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$48,900 - $66,200 per year
