Job Description Summary
The Materials Procurement Internship is an opportunity to support the Manufacturing department in the procurement area at GE Vernova. The intern will assist in the management of direct and indirect material purchases for the manufacture of electrical cabinets, ensuring smooth operations and efficient supply chain processes.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide support in the purchase management of direct and indirect materials.
- Assist in supplier onboarding, request for quotations (RFQ), purchase order placement, and delivery tracking.
- Support the invoice processing and payment verification for delivered orders.
- Manage the return process for non-conforming materials.
- Collaborate with global suppliers, Production department, and the Material receiving team.
- Support the overall procurement workflow to ensure timely material availability.
Qualifications/Requirements
- University degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a similar field. Students in their final year (with only a few subjects or the Final Degree Project pending) are welcome to apply.
- Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
- Professional experience of less than 1 year as maximum.
- This is an on-site position at Zamudio office; no remote work is available. (preferably living in the vicinity of the plant as GE does not support relocation)
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers.
- Excellent organizational and data management skills, with the ability to handle high volumes of information and task tracking.
- If contracted in Spain: Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement.

Internship Details
- Duration: 12 months.
- Schedule: 7 hours/day.
- Location/Department: Manufacturing Department – Materials Procurement Area.
- Training Provided:
- EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) training and specific job-related training on material planning and provisioning.
- Procurement management based on MRP, forecasting, and tools for RFQs, PO processing, and non-conforming material returns.
- Hands-on training in SAP Altais (Manufacturing and Procurement modules, Material Master, BOMs, and routings).
