We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Process Engineer to join us in our Engineering & Technical Solutions team in Brisbane, QLD on a 12 Month Max Term Contract.

Reporting to the Head of Process Safety & Technical Assurance, you will support the safe and efficient operation of APA’s gas transmission assets, working closely with the Asset Engineering team within Operations to champion process safety, risk-based decision-making and emissions reduction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day operational and technical support to the Integrated Operations Centre and Control Room teams.
  • Champion process safety fundamentals, risk-based decision-making and safeguard health monitoring.
  • Analyse operational data and provide data-driven recommendations to improve asset performance.
  • Support maintenance and asset strategies to maximise capacity, availability and reliability.
  • Partner with Operations and Infrastructure Development teams to deliver improvement, optimisation and rectification initiatives.

Your background

  • Strong experience in process engineering, ideally within gas transmission, pipelines or a similar operational environment.
  • Sound knowledge of process safety, risk assessment, particularly HAZOP and LOPA, and environmental and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience with process modelling tools such as HYSYS and DNV Synergi Gas.
  • Strong data analysis capability, with experience using data historians such as OSIsoft PI; Python experience is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with operational teams and communicate technical advice and recommendations to a broad range of stakeholders.
