Description
About Venn
Venn is a fast-growing technology, building the intelligent operating layer for modern residential living.
Our platform helps leading U.S. real estate operators connect residents, property teams, payments, services, maintenance, and community into one seamless product experience.
We’re now taking Venn to the next level by turning each partner’s data, knowledge, and way of operating into a Company Brain, and building tailored applications and AI agents on top of it.
We work at the intersection of PropTech, AI, data, and real-world operational systems, with one clear promise- help operators serve millions of residents with the care they would give to a few close friends.
About the role
We are looking for a hands-on Data Lead to build and own Venn’s data domain end-to-end.
This is a key role for someone who combines strong engineering capabilities, deep data passion, product thinking, and business understanding. We are looking for a builder who can independently create the data infrastructure, deliver reliable dashboards and insights, support product and business decision-making, and turn data into a strategic asset for the company.
This is not just a reporting or BI role. You will be responsible for building the data foundation that will support Venn’s next stage of growth- across infrastructure, product analytics, business insights, executive reporting, customer-facing analytics, and future AI-driven use cases.
What you’ll do
- Own Venn’s data domain end-to-end- from infrastructure and pipelines to dashboards, insights, and business impact.
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines across product, finance, GTM, customer, and operational data sources.
- Design reliable data models and create a clear source of truth for key company metrics.
- Build business and executive dashboards that help leadership understand the state of the business.
- Analyze product usage, engagement, adoption, retention, feature performance, and customer value.
- Support Product, R&D, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, and leadership with meaningful data insights.
- Translate business and product questions into clear data analysis and actionable recommendations.
- Work closely with R&D, while being technically independent and able to build and deliver solutions without relying on engineering support for every step.
- Define data standards, documentation, quality checks, metric definitions, and best practices.
- Use modern AI tools to accelerate data development, analysis, documentation, automation, and insight generation.
- Identify opportunities where Venn’s data can support smarter product experiences, automated insights, customer-facing analytics, and AI-supported decision-making.
The must
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, BI, product analytics, or similar data roles.
- Strong hands-on development background- currently coding or previously worked as a developer / software engineer.
- Strong SQL skills and experience building data models, pipelines, and reporting layers.
- Experience working with modern data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar.
- Ability to build data solutions independently, end-to-end, from technical design to implementation and delivery.
- Strong product and business understanding, with the ability to connect data to real company needs.
- Experience building dashboards, reporting layers, and business/product insights.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools as part of day-to-day technical work, analysis, development, or data workflows.
- Ability to work directly with stakeholders across Product, R&D, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and leadership.
- High ownership, independence, curiosity, and strong problem-solving skills.
The nice
- Experience in B2B SaaS, marketplace, PropTech, real estate technology, or product-led companies.
- Experience with product analytics, event-based data, funnels, cohorts, retention, and engagement metrics.
- Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Mode, or similar.
- Experience building semantic layers, metric layers, self-service analytics, or customer-facing analytics.
- Experience with LLM-based tools, AI agents, automated insights, recommendation systems, or AI-powered analytics workflows.
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment with ambiguity and evolving priorities.
Who you are
- You are a builder who likes taking unclear data problems and turning them into working solutions.
- You are technical enough to build things yourself, but business-oriented enough to understand why they matter.
- You can go deep into the data, but also zoom out and see the bigger picture.
- You enjoy working with engineers, product managers, finance, GTM teams, and executives.
- You want to build the data function, not just be part of one.
