Project Engineer – Life Sciences (Design)
Location: Cork or Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid – 3 Days per Week)
Contract: 12-Month Contract (Renewable)
Rate: Competitive Hourly Rate (DOE)
The Opportunity
Leap29 is recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering consultancy for experienced Project Engineers to support the delivery of major pharmaceutical and biotechnology projects across Ireland.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you'll play a key role in coordinating engineering activities, managing project deliverables and supporting the successful execution of complex Life Sciences facilities from design through to commissioning and handover.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-value capital projects for global pharmaceutical clients within a collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support engineering projects across pharmaceutical and biotechnology facilities.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop project schedules, budgets and resource plans.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning and qualification of equipment and systems.
- Prepare technical documentation, risk assessments and project reports.
- Liaise with clients, contractors and vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement engineering solutions.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 10+ years' engineering experience within the Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical or Life Sciences sectors.
- Proven experience working within an EPCM or engineering consultancy environment.
- Experience delivering large-scale capital projects (€100m+ preferred).
- Strong understanding of GMP, validation practices and cleanroom environments.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering packages and project delivery.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
