Position Summary...

What you'll do...

The Associate-to-Driver program provides associates an opportunity to further their career and become a Walmart Private Fleet driver. Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies data and resources collaborating with managers coworkers customers and other business partners identifying priorities deadlines and expectations carrying out tasks communicating progress and information determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities and adapting to and learning from change difficulties and feedback.

Maintains and retains load related paperwork electronic logs for example hours of service logs and forms for example forms required by the Department of Transportation local state and federal agencies.

Complies with company policies procedures and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans using the Open Door Policy and applying these in executing business processes and practices.

Operates tractor trailer according to all safety requirements company policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations Inspects mechanical safety and emergency equipment of tractor-trailer unit before during and after trips.

Plans driving routes based on local and state traffic laws and local restrictions Follows routes according to information from maps and atlas.

CDL Class A License, Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Vehicle Inspections, Vehicle Inspection, Ethical Standards and Conduct, Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

The hourly wage range for this position is $14.00 - $32.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Minimum Qualifications...

No more than two (2) moving violations while operation a personal or commercial vehicle in the last three (3) years
No serious traffic violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accident resulting in a fatality or catastrophic injury in driving history (personal or commercial motor vehicle)
Upon successful completion of the program, must meet the requirement of the OTR Truck Driver or City Driver position
Any associate who receives and accepts an offer for the A2D program will be required to get the Commercial License Permit (CLP) on their own prior to attending training
