Description
- Provide inspirational and operational leadership to volunteers
- Recruit, select, and equip dedicated program and special event volunteers
- Meet regularly with volunteers for training
- Build a stable and growing participant base
- Recruit participants for weekly ongoing programming
- Conduct intake interviews with participants and caregivers
- Provide ongoing communication and support to participants and caregivers
- Program Oversight
- Plan and execute weekly programming
- Plan and execute special program days and events
- Provide resources and program assistance to partner churches and like-minded organizations
- Collaborate with the Missouri Area Ministry team to engage church and like-minded organizations
- Refer church and like-minded organizations to the Missouri Area Ministry team for ministry relations specific assistance
- Analyze program effectiveness using Salesforce and other Joni and Friends approved tools
- Create and manage appropriate campaigns
- Track volunteer and participant engagement using existing tools
- Other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor to support department and organizational needs
- Must possess a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with the Joni and Friends statement of faith
- Desire to serve in a growing and dynamic Christian service ministry
- 3+ years of event planning, project management, and/or volunteer oversight required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Ability to lift 25 pounds; physically able to help set up at events
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events and projects simultaneously
- Able to effectively recruit, select, equip and lead volunteers to assist in the execution of ministry programs and events
- Must be able to travel, domestically, and work evenings and weekends as needed
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Able to work effectively with Joni and Friends’ service departments to leverage partnerships for ministry success
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- A team player
- Strong management skills, especially with volunteers
- Must have a strong sense of confidentiality
- Strong general computer skills are necessary along with a competent, working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and the Internet
- Understanding of Christian ministry and specifically Joni and Friends is desirable
Work is primarily performed in an office setting but also includes offsite environments such as hotels, conference centers, and retreat facilities. Offsite work may involve varying temperatures, lighting, and noise levels, as well as periods of increased activity during event setup and execution. Employees are expected to maintain professionalism, safety awareness, and flexibility while adapting to different environments and schedules.

Compensation: $21.00-24.00 per hour. The hours for this part-time position are 7:30 am to 12:30 pm, Monday through Friday. .
