STORE Capital Advisors, LLC is seeking an EVP- Portfolio Management to join our Leadership Team.

How you will contribute to STORE’s mission:

The Executive Vice President, Portfolio Management is a key member of STORE Capital’s executive leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and responsible for the strategic oversight, performance, and long-term health of STORE’s net-lease portfolio. This executive leads the Portfolio Management function and is accountable for establishing, leading, and executing portfolio strategies that optimize investment performance, proactively manage risk, strengthen customer relationships, and maximize long-term value.


The EVP provides strategic leadership across all aspects of portfolio management, including customer and industry performance, portfolio analysis and benchmarking, lease renewals and divestment strategies, servicing matters, distressed investments, asset resolution strategies, and portfolio optimization. This leader oversees a high-performing team of Portfolio Management professionals and establishes the strategies, processes, and performance expectations necessary to proactively identify emerging risks and opportunities across STORE’s portfolio.


What Most Days Will Include (Primary Duties)

  • Lead STORE’s overall portfolio management strategy, ensuring the long-term health, performance, and value of the company’s net-lease portfolio
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board, providing clear and actionable insight into portfolio performance, risk exposure, troubled investments, anticipated recoveries, emerging customer and industry trends, and strategic portfolio initiatives
  • Lead the Portfolio Management function and oversee the overall performance of the portfolio, establishing strategic priorities, performance expectations, and accountability for the proactive management of STORE’s customers and investments, supported by rigorous analysis of customer performance, industry trends, portfolio concentrations, and emerging risks and opportunities
  • Oversee, develop, and execute disposition strategy including proactively identifying assets, investments, or sectors for strategic disposition, portfolio culling, or opportunistic sales and maintain regular conversations with industry brokers and market participants. 
  • Drive portfolio optimization strategy to maximize portfolio value and risk-adjusted returns including lease extensions, restructuring, lease amendment, or other value-enhancement opportunities based on performance, risk, market conditions, and long-term strategic fit
  • Establish and execute strategies for underperforming and distressed investments, including the identification and escalation of customers and investments requiring increased monitoring or intervention, and the execution of restructurings, workouts, credit enhancements, and other asset resolution strategies to ensure timely and effective risk mitigation
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key customers, serving as the senior-level resource for complex servicing matters, including assignments, changes of control, guarantor substitutions, lease amendments, and other matters that may impact the credit quality or value of STORE’s investments
  • Partner closely with Acquisitions and Credit Underwriting to incorporate portfolio performance, customer insights, and emerging trends into new investment strategies and underwriting decisions
  • Partner with Data Analytics to advance the company’s portfolio analytics, reporting, processes, and capabilities, leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve visibility, proactive risk identification and monitoring, decision quality, and operational effectiveness
  • Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing Portfolio Management team, building leadership capabilities, strengthening succession planning, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Represent the Portfolio Management function in executive-level discussions and with investors, lenders, rating agencies, and other key stakeholders as appropriate
  • Lead additional strategic initiatives and responsibilities as directed by the Chief Executive Officer

What Will Make You Successful (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field required; advanced degree or CFA designation preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in commercial real estate investment, portfolio management, asset management, corporate credit, or related fields
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams and senior-level professionals
  • Deep expertise in corporate credit analysis and the management of large, complex commercial real estate investment portfolios
  • Significant experience with divestments, workouts, restructurings, leasing, distressed investments, and complex asset resolution strategies
  • Proven ability to develop and execute portfolio strategies that optimize performance, mitigate risk, and maximize investment value
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, credit risk, investment performance, commercial real estate valuation, and market and industry trends
  • Experience with value-add investment strategies, including redevelopment, repositioning, and asset optimization
  • Advanced financial, analytical, and strategic decision-making capabilities with the ability to evaluate complex investments and portfolio-level risks
  • Demonstrated ability to advise executive leadership and communicate complex portfolio matters, risks, and strategies to the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board
  • Exceptional executive presence, leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Strong business acumen and sound judgment with the ability to balance investment performance, risk management, customer relationships, and broader company objectives
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment and influence strategic decision-making across an organization
