#LI-HybridTeam Overview
We are looking for a Regional Social Media Manager that can join the Regional Social Media Masterbrand Team to help us become a social first brand, that drives the way we connect with users at a whole new level. DiDi’s Social & Influencer team isn't here to simply execute marketing briefs or operate as a service desk. We are actively transforming Social Media into a high-impact unit that drives measurable brand equity, user engagement, and business growth across Spanish Speaking Latam (SSL)
The Regional Social Media Manager should embody a "Founder Mindset." You will act as an authoritative social expert in the room. Someone who doesn't just manage stakeholders, but consults, educates, and productively pushes back on internal teams and external agencies to protect brand quality and maximize impact. You will oversee end-to-end strategy, agency performance, cross-functional stakeholder alignment, and rigid operational workflows.
The 5 Core Pillars of Success
To thrive in this role, you must bring mastery across five essential competencies:
Consulting & Senior Stakeholder Management: You communicate with precision. You understand the business units (Rides, Food, Fintech) and can translate their needs into social media strategies. You know when to align, when to educate, and how to challenge without escalating routine issues upward.
Project Management & Process Rigor: You can effortlessly manage concurrent campaigns across multiple markets, maintaining full visibility over timelines, agency deliverables, negotiation skills towards agency proposals (influencers costs, production costs, etc) and cross-functional dependencies. Proactively document best practices, optimize workflows, and develop functional playbooks to elevate the team's operational maturity.
Strategic Mindset: You analyze every brief before touching it, dissecting business goals and translating them into sharp, platform-first social strategies. Own end-to-end execution across markets. Break down complex plans, allocate resources efficiently, manage risk, and guarantee budgeting and forecasting accuracy.
Data & Analytical Skills: Data informs every recommendation you make. You filter agency proposals through critical data lenses and turn post-campaign metrics into actionable business intelligence.
Creative Vision & Platform Fluency: You possess an elite instinct for social-first creative, culture, and influencer ecosystems. You consume content daily, stay ahead of algorithm shifts, and protect the brand from average, copy-paste executions.
Role Responsibilities
- Brief Analysis & Elevation: Intercept and critically dissect every incoming business brief before execution. Challenge weak assumptions, inject social-first insights, and re-frame briefs to maximize impact.
-
Regional Strategy: Lead and execute multi-market social and influencer strategies across SSL (Mexico, Colombia, Argentina mainly), ensuring alignment with brand health and business unit goals (Food, Rides, Shop, MasterBrand).
-
Business Connection: Tie social metrics directly to commercial and brand KPIs. Prove the value of social.
-
Authority in the Room: Serve as the definitive social media subject matter expert across the marketing organization. Educate business leads on social best practices and push back against non-social tactics.
-
Productive Engagement: Handle cross-functional friction independently with calm, conviction, and data. Resolve operational bottlenecks at your level.
-
End-to-End Campaign Management: Own the full campaign process (From brief to reporting).
-
Critical Agency Filtering: Audit, filter, and provide sharp, actionable feedback on creative decks, media plans, and influencer rosters before presenting them internally.
-
Project Orchestration: Manage high-volume workloads (5 to 10 active projects/month) utilizing structured tracking tools (Asana, Monday.com). Proactively anticipate delays, track milestones, and manage risks.
-
Analytics & Optimization: Monitor live campaigns, supervise performance, and pivot tactics in real-time. Utilize enterprise social tools (Sprinklr, Emplifi, Sprout Social) to generate deep analytical reports.
-
Culture & Inspiration: Actively "feed your head" by auditing global social benchmarks, monitoring regional competitors, and sharing weekly platform shifts with the broader marketing team.
Role Qualifications
-
Experience: 7+ years of experience leading social media strategy, agency management, or creative/brand planning, with proven experience managing regional or multi-market campaigns in tech, fast-paced consumer apps, or top-tier creative/digital agencies.
-
Proven Consultative Track Record: Demonstrated ability to manage senior stakeholders (Directors, Brand Leads), push back on non-strategic requests, and influence business decisions using data.
-
Demonstrated Project Management Mastery: Proven experience running complex, multi-market operational workflows, managing 5+ simultaneous projects with structured PM mindset and software (Asana, Monday.com, Jira).
-
Analytical Capability: Expert fluency in social analytics tools (Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Emplifi) with a strong capability to connect social data to business performance.
-
Influencer & Platform Expertise: In-depth knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube ecosystems, paid social boosting mechanics, and the influencer landscape across SSL (Mexico, Colombia, Argentina).
-
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication in English and Spanish; ability to present complex strategies concisely to executive audiences.
-
You bring solutions, not escalations: You solve operational and stakeholder friction at your level.
-
You bring perspective, not just execution: You enter meetings prepared, present, and ready to lead with a distinct point of view.
-
You protect quality: You filter bad ideas, elevate average briefs, and refuse to pass along uncritical work.
