Leidos Defense is seeking a Knowledge Management Specialist to support the Indo-Pacific Logistics Support 2 (ILS2) Program. The Knowledge Management Specialist will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of knowledge management processes, tools, and repositories that enable effective information sharing, collaboration, continuity, and decision-making across geographically dispersed program teams and mission partners.

Job summary:

The Knowledge Management Specialist will work with program leadership, functional leads, technical SMEs, and customers to identify knowledge management requirements, improve business processes, develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), and organize program information to ensure personnel have timely access to accurate, relevant, and actionable information. The position will support Microsoft 365 and SharePoint-based knowledge management environments, structured repositories, workflow automation, and data organization to improve information accessibility and operational effectiveness.

Primary Responsibilities.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain knowledge management processes, procedures, tools, and repositories supporting ILS2 program operations.

  • Support the Leidos KM team in implementing and maintaining Microsoft 365, SharePoint-based knowledge management, and collaboration environments for secure information sharing and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Maintain structured knowledge repositories containing after-action reports (AARs), SOPs, operational data, lessons learned, and other mission information to support continuity, reuse, and rapid onboarding.

  • Gather and analyze requirements from customers, program leadership, functional leads, and SMEs to identify knowledge management, collaboration, and information-sharing needs.

  • Develop and maintain SOPs, process documentation, user guides, quick-reference materials, templates, and other knowledge products that translate complex operational and technical information into clear, usable content.

  • Develop and implement structured workflows and automation to streamline tasking, approvals, information dissemination, and other business processes.

  • Support the development of analytics-driven knowledge management products and workflows that enable decision advantage and support integrated Common Operational Picture (COP) activities aligned to program battle rhythms.

  • Organize and maintain program data through effective data tagging, metadata, search optimization, taxonomy, and content governance to ensure information is discoverable, usable, and appropriately controlled.

  • Administer and support SharePoint sites, libraries, lists, workflows, forms, permissions, metadata, and content structures used to organize and share program information.

  • Develop and implement SharePoint-based solutions, automated workflows, forms, and other capabilities that improve business processes and reduce manual administrative activities.

  • Modify and maintain SharePoint pages and related HTML/ASPX content, as required, to support program collaboration and information-sharing requirements.

  • Work directly with functional and technical SMEs to capture institutional knowledge, operational processes, lessons learned, and best practices across ILS2 task areas.

  • Analyze existing business processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, standardization, information accessibility, and knowledge sharing.

  • Conduct assessments of program content, SharePoint sites, and knowledge repositories and provide recommendations to Content Managers, Site Managers, and program leadership.

  • Support the capture, organization, and dissemination of lessons learned and best practices across geographically dispersed locations.

  • Participate in knowledge management and information governance discussions and provide recommendations regarding SharePoint, Microsoft 365, content management, workflow automation, and KM best practices.

  • Provide user guidance, training, and technical assistance for SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and other program knowledge management capabilities.

  • Support program leadership with special projects, process improvement initiatives, and other knowledge management activities necessary to improve organizational effectiveness.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4–8 years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s degree and 2–6 years of prior relevant experience. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree, consistent with contract and company requirements.

  • Experience supporting knowledge management, content management, business process improvement, information management, or technical documentation functions.

  • Experience developing and maintaining SharePoint and Microsoft 365 collaboration environments.

  • Experience developing SOPs, process documentation, user guides, training materials, and other knowledge products.

  • Experience gathering and analyzing customer requirements and translating requirements into practical knowledge management or business process solutions.

  • Experience working with technical and functional SMEs to capture, organize, and communicate complex information.

  • Strong technical writing, editing, analytical, and information organization skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze processes, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend practical solutions.

  • Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense, Special Operations Forces, logistics, or other federal government programs.

  • Experience supporting knowledge management within geographically dispersed or OCONUS operating environments.

  • Experience with DoD 365, Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint Portals, Power Automate, Power Apps, or comparable collaboration and workflow technologies.

  • Experience with InfoPath, Nintex, SharePoint Designer, HTML, or ASPX.

  • Experience developing automated workflows for tasking, approvals, dissemination, or other business processes.

  • Experience with content governance, metadata, data tagging, search optimization, taxonomy, or structured knowledge repositories.

  • Experience supporting Common Operational Picture (COP), operational data, analytics-driven workflows, or decision-support products.

  • Experience supporting lessons learned, after-action reporting, business process improvement, or organizational knowledge capture initiatives.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively with geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams.
