The Sr Staff Data Platform Architect is responsible for leading initiatives to design, implement, and optimize the AI and Data Platform, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical standards. This includes managing cross-functional teams, defining project scope and timelines, and overseeing delivery of scalable infrastructure for advanced analytics and machine learning. The role focuses on driving innovation, ensuring data governance, and enabling seamless integration of AI capabilities across enterprise systems
This position reports to the Sr Director, AI and Data infrastructure, and is part of the Digital Products Development Group. located in Krakow, Poland and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and delivery of a multi-cloud Data & AI platform, owning platform capabilities across Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, and related technologies to enable scalable analytics, machine learning, and AI solutions.
Define and govern platform architecture, engineering standards, and best practices, including reference architectures, integration patterns, security, data governance, ingestion, transformation, semantic layers, cost controls, and technical design artifacts to ensure consistency, scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability.
Drive platform reliability, operational excellence, and observability, establishing runbooks, monitoring and alerting standards, incident and problem management processes, and SLO-based health metrics to ensure a stable, resilient, and continuously improving platform.
Build and standardize automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, and CI/CD capabilities, implementing automated provisioning, deployment pipelines, data pipeline orchestration, and release management processes that improve delivery velocity, reduce risk, and ensure consistent operations across environments.
Lead technical execution and mentorship across multiple workstreams as a player-coach, making architecture decisions, reviewing designs, guiding complex implementations and proof-of-concepts, unblocking engineering teams, and mentoring engineers to elevate technical quality and delivery outcomes.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Demonstrated hands-on expertise designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-scale Data & AI platforms, with deep knowledge of modern data architectures and cloud-native services.
Strong multi-cloud engineering experience across Azure and AWS, including advanced proficiency with Snowflake and modern data ecosystem technologies supporting scalable analytics, machine learning, and AI solutions.
Expertise in data orchestration, transformation, and automation frameworks, including Apache Airflow and dbt, with the ability to implement modular data models, testing frameworks, reliable workflow operations, and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions (e.g., Terraform, ARM) using secure-by-design principles.
Significant experience in senior platform engineering, architecture, or technical leadership roles, including defining technical standards, driving architectural decisions, and leading complex platform initiatives from strategy through execution.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, with exceptional communication and influencing skills, including the ability to align cross-functional teams, articulate architectural strategies, and translate technical investments into measurable business outcomes and executive-level narratives.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Ability to travel – up to 10%
