Job Description Summary

The Estimating Database Specialist will perform a wide variety of clerical and IT related tasks to support the electrical preconstruction team on estimating software. This person will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Accubid Anywhere Database. A high degree of accuracy, communication, and attention to detail is required.

Job Description:

Role & Responsibilities

  • Create & maintain items, assemblies, and templates for the estimating software database.
  • Update commodity pricing for the estimating database weekly with Trade Service Online update.
  • Resolve errors found with the Trade Service Online update.
  • Ongoing database cleanup and maintenance.
  • Update local union rates, equipment rental/purchase rates, and project support rates yearly.
  • Working with supervisor, develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish required tasks and support requests.
  • Responsible for training and assisting team members with the use of Accubid Anywhere.
  • Assist in development of HQ & Branch office’s standard items, assemblies, takeoff pads, and templates.
  • Facilitate resolutions of the items & wish log entries residing in the centralized estimating communication teams channel.
  • Serve as an IT branch for Accubid queries & issues from all Hunt Accubid users.
  • Maintain communication of Accubid database changes and upgrades to all users via database announcements within Teams chat.
  • Participate in committees and department meetings, as well as estimate debriefs.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) year degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical conceptual estimating, low voltage estimating, National Electrical Code requirements, and design/build estimating.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe/Bluebeam, and virtual meeting software.
  • Computerized estimating skills using Accubid Anywhere or another estimating software.  
  • Competent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • “Excel” Style formula creation and understanding a plus.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to mentor and train.

  • Willingness to BETA test created items, assemblies, and specifications to verify proper function, prior to launching to users.

  • Ask questions of functions of the software or database that are not clear, to avoid future issues or cluttering up the database with unnecessary data.

Physical Requirements

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, and photocopiers. 
  • Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch, or crawl. 
  • This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
  • This position may occasionally lift up-to 10 pounds.

Pay Range:

$76,800.00 - $102,400.00

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
