Salary: Up to £35,000 (depending on experience)

An established and growing accountancy practice based in Horsforth is looking to strengthen its accounts and audit team with an experienced Accounts & Audit Semi Senior. This is a great opportunity for someone with around 1–2 years' practice experience who enjoys audit and is looking to develop their career within a supportive, established firm.

The role offers an excellent mix of approximately 70% audit and 30% accounts, providing exposure to a varied client base ranging from owner-managed businesses and SMEs through to larger organisations and international groups.

With full support available towards ACA studies, this would suit someone who is early in their qualification journey and wants to build their technical experience whilst working towards the next stage of their career.

Responsibilities of the Accounts & Audit Semi Senior job include:

• Preparing statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of clients
• Carrying out audit assignments as part of a team
• Working across audits for SMEs through to larger and more complex businesses
• Supporting with larger audit assignments whilst developing the ability to manage smaller audits
• Preparing first-draft corporation tax work alongside accounts and audit assignments
• Supporting with VAT and wider general practice accounting work
• Working with businesses across a wide range of sectors and sizes
• Liaising with clients and building strong professional relationships
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the accounts, audit and tax teams
• Developing your technical knowledge and taking on increased responsibility as you progress

Requirements of the Accounts & Audit Semi Senior job include:

• Around 1–2 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice
• Genuine previous audit experience is essential
• A genuine interest in continuing to develop a career within audit
• Experience across both accounts and audit
• Ideally AAT Level 4 qualified or working towards Level 4
• An interest in progressing towards ACA or continuing professional studies
• Comfortable working with SME clients and a varied portfolio
• Good communication and client-facing skills
