The Customs team are seeking a talented Import/ Export Coordinator to join the team based in our offices in Charlton (near North Greenwich).


Location: Our office is in Charlton (near North Greenwich).

Reporting into: Assistant Manager Customs

Here is a breakdown of what you’ll be doing:

  • Facilitate the seamless flow of inbound Stock Imports and customer outbound orders into/out of our Global Distribution centres, at the right cost and at the right time, whilst ensuring local customs compliance regulations are adhered to at all times.
  • Liaise with suppliers, carriers and vendors daily, checking all applicable documentation is in place and fully compliant for import and subsequent re-export to over 170 markets.
  • Accurate classification of goods using the Harmonised Tariff System.
  • Provide clear and concise Import Clearance Instructions to Carriers
  • Assist the customer care team in ensuring seamless delivery of customer shipments
  • Process all urgent non-customer shipment requests through carrier software and create all relevant shipping documents.
  • Identifying areas of risk within the supply chain and providing solutions to maintain compliance controls

 

The type of person we are looking for:

  • A strong organizer, efficient worker who is detail orientated and methodical
  • Knowledge of International Customs laws/regulations and export compliance policies, documentation and processes
  • Understanding of AIR Export documentation and procedures
  • Detailed knowledge of Harmonised Tariff System, HMRC Customs Procedure Codes and revenue amendment policies
  • Full understanding of Incoterms and good understanding of Free Trade Agreements and duty relief procedures
  • Logistics experience of main methods of transport (Air, road & sea)
  • Previous experience of Dangerous Goods, ATA Carnet and CITES protocols advantageous
