Position Summary
Amerit Fleet Solutions is the leading Fleet Maintenance company in the U.S. We are seeking a charismatic, self-motivated Buyer Lead to purchase automotive parts, and lead a small group of Parts Coordinators. As a PC Lead for the organization, they will research, evaluate, and buy products to meet our daily operational needs.
Compensation: Competitive Salary Pay $70,000 - $75,000 - Paid weekly, every Friday!

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to assigned Buyers and/or Parts Coordinators to ensure purchasing activities are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Make purchasing and sourcing decisions in accordance with company procedures, authorization levels, customer requirements, and established procurement standards.
- Review purchase requisitions and purchase orders for accuracy, completeness, appropriate sourcing, pricing, and vendor selection.
- Support and coach Buyers in sourcing automotive parts, equipment, supplies, and other required commodities.
- Manage and resolve escalated purchasing issues, including delayed orders, incorrect parts, pricing discrepancies, backorders, vendor issues, and critical vehicle requirements.
- Monitor open purchase orders and ensure Buyers maintain appropriate follow-up on order status, ETA accuracy, and vendor commitments.
- Identify and select vendors based on cost, quality, availability, delivery performance, service levels, and established preferred-vendor strategies.
- Review supplier quotes and assist Buyers in negotiating competitive pricing as required, delivery terms, and other commercial conditions.
- Drive compliance with preferred vendors, negotiated agreements, purchasing policies, and established sourcing processes.
- Collaborate with Operations, Fleet, Parts Coordinators, Procurement leadership, and other internal stakeholders to resolve purchasing issues and support operational requirements.
- Provide guidance regarding purchasing procedures, sourcing strategies, vendor selection, and escalation processes.
- Determine the appropriate purchasing method based on cost, urgency, availability, competitive bidding requirements, existing contracts, and operational needs.
- Monitor Buyer workload and assist with prioritization and distribution of purchasing activities to maintain service levels.
- Review purchasing trends and recurring issues to identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, vendor consolidation, and increased efficiency.
- Support Procurement leadership in monitoring Buyer KPIs, including PO volume, PO aging, ETA accuracy, purchasing cycle time, preferred-vendor utilization, pricing accuracy, open-order management, and escalation resolution.
- Coach Buyers on performance expectations, purchasing best practices, vendor communication, sourcing techniques, and customer service.
- Serve as a primary escalation point for complex or time-sensitive purchasing issues.
- Support onboarding and training of new Buyers and reinforce established SOPs and procurement processes.
- Maintain a strong sense of urgency and ownership for purchases impacting vehicle availability and customer operations.
- Perform other purchasing and procurement responsibilities as assigned by Procurement leadership.
- Learning, understanding, and working to help develop DOMO Metrics and KPIs that help guide Buyers to best in class programs.

- Strong automotive and/or fleet parts knowledge, including the ability to understand part applications, substitutions, cross-references, and supplier options.

- Ability to analyze purchasing requirements and make sound sources and commercial decisions.
- Ability to independently prioritize workload and manage multiple urgent purchasing requirements.

- Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Economics, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Previous purchasing, buying, automotive parts, fleet, or supply chain experience required.
- Previous experience as a Parts Coordinator, Buyer, Buyer Lead, or comparable purchasing role strongly preferred.
- Previous experience coaching, training, or providing day-to-day direction to purchasing personnel preferred.
- Experience working in a high-volume, multi-location fleet, automotive, transportation, or service environment strongly preferred.
