Description
About Affinda Group
Affinda Group is building the world’s leading AI transformation business. We are focused on transforming the value of any company with AI by leveraging our three core capabilities: automating complex business processes through our agentic AI platform, identifying and delivering high-impact AI solutions, and training teams to use AI properly.
The Affinda platform combines advanced language models, retrieval-augmented generation, and configurable workflows so organisations can extract data, orchestrate processes, and embed AI safely into their day-to-day operations.
Our revenues are scaling rapidly, with 2,000+ customers globally and a team of ~100 people in 10 countries. We are well capitalised and are currently investing in multiple growth engines to accelerate our ambition of becoming an Australian AI company of global significance.
The Role
Reporting to our General Counsel (GC) in Melbourne, this will be a part-time role working maximum 3 days a week with a potential for full time based on business growth. You will play a key role in working directly with the GC and other stakeholders across the full contract lifecycle including reviewing customer, vendor and partner agreements.
Key responsibilities:
- Ownership of the contract repository, templates and precedents, and our public legal pages
- Take corporate policies from drafting through rollout, implementation and review
- Be a point of contact for sales on customer legal and regulatory questions
- Track contract renewals, expirations, and obligations to avoid revenue leakage or compliance gaps
- Act as the connective tissue between Legal and other functions — particularly around deal desk support and contract negotiation logistics
- Embrace AI day-to-day. Ability and willingness to adopt AI tools is important. You should be comfortable using AI tools for legal work, and to leverage Affinda’s capability as a world-leading AI company
What you’ll bring
Experience gained from either a law firm or in-house legal function is preferred
Minimum 3 years qualified and post-qualification experience in either commercial contracts or a legal operations / legal practice management role
A highly organised individual, commercially minded, and interest in helping a legal function scale
You will take responsibility for the infrastructure that keeps our legal function running well and help extend it as we grow
Demonstrated interest in AI tooling is an advantage
Practicing sound judgment in knowing when issues are to be escalated to the GC and which can be proactively resolved
Location
