Location: Ojibwa Indian School, 9620 42nd Avenue NE, Belcourt, North Dakota 58316
Job Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Two (2) days per week, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM CST, for approximately 40 weeks per year, including Extended School Year (ESY) services



Position Overview
Ladgov Corporation is seeking a qualified and experienced Physical Therapist (PT) to provide on-site physical therapy services to students at Ojibwa Indian School in Belcourt, North Dakota.
The Physical Therapist will work directly with students who require physical therapy as a related educational service, including students with disabilities and special needs. The position focuses on helping students improve functional mobility, strength, balance, endurance, range of motion, and gross motor skills necessary to participate successfully in their educational environment.
The Physical Therapist will collaborate closely with teachers, school personnel, families, healthcare professionals, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams to ensure therapy services are appropriately integrated into each student's educational program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site physical therapy services to eligible students.
  • Conduct physical therapy screenings, evaluations, and re-evaluations to identify student needs and determine appropriate interventions.
  • Develop and implement individualized physical therapy programs for students with disabilities.
  • Provide direct therapy designed to improve strength, range of motion, endurance, balance, mobility, and gross motor skills.
  • Develop appropriate physical therapy goals and objectives for inclusion in students' IEPs.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, families, school personnel, and other professionals.
  • Monitor student progress toward established therapy and IEP goals and modify treatment strategies when appropriate.
  • Adapt therapeutic activities to support student safety, participation, and successful outcomes.
  • Serve as a liaison among the school, students, families, and outside healthcare providers regarding physical therapy needs.
  • Consult with medical professionals and school personnel regarding therapy services and educationally relevant treatment goals.
  • Provide training and consultation to school personnel as requested.
  • Provide training and guidance to parents when required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely student service logs, assessments, treatment documentation, and progress reports.
  • Maintain student confidentiality and comply with applicable ethical, professional, state, and federal requirements.
  • Maintain all required professional licenses and credentials throughout employment.
  • Provide necessary therapy supplies, materials, and testing materials required to perform services.

Requirements
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
  • Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
  • Successful completion of the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE).
  • Current, valid, and unrestricted license to independently practice as a Physical Therapist.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience as a Physical Therapist in a school-based setting.
  • Demonstrated experience providing services to students with special needs.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Ability to independently perform physical therapy evaluations, treatment planning, intervention, documentation, and progress monitoring.
  • Ability to provide all services on-site at Ojibwa Indian School.
  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Must successfully complete and receive a favorable determination through required Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) background screening/security and suitability requirements before beginning work.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric and school-based physical therapy practices.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary special education or IEP team.
  • Knowledge of physical therapy's role as a related service within the educational environment.
  • Experience developing measurable student-centered therapy goals and monitoring progress toward those goals.
  • Strong clinical judgment and the ability to adapt therapeutic interventions to individual student needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, educators, administrators, and healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent documentation, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and strict confidentiality when working with student information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, student-focused approach to service delivery.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with school personnel and Ladgov Corporation management.

Schedule
This is a part-time, on-site position.
  • Days: Two (2) days per week
  • Hours: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM CST
  • Service Period: Approximately 40 weeks per year
  • Extended School Year: Schedule includes required ESY services
  • Location: Ojibwa Indian School, Belcourt, North Dakota
Specific service days will be coordinated in accordance with the school's schedule and student service requirements.
