In this role, you will have responsibility to lead the Automation team at the Asheville, NC site to implement, optimize, and sustain Automation & Advanced process control. Asheville will be the leading lighthouse site for this initiative. This is a critical part of Pratt & Whitney’s enterprise initiative for Digital factory and modernization within Manufacturing Operational Excellence and module centers. This modernization augments Model based definition, manufacturing, and inspection (MB-DMI) for work instructions and Mfg execution, i4.0 enablers including Automated tiered metrics, machine state monitoring, Automated OEE/OLE, digital andon system and reporting. The critical component to do this is standing up the Operational Technology Network.
What You Will Do:
- Define a Vision, a roadmap, and a deployment strategy for factory Automation at Asheville Site.
- Lead a team to implement automation of engineered processes, lean pull system & change over, and integration of performance data.
- Collaborate with required disciplines to define process capability needs, process control tools, and optimization of data analysis.
- Lead and support events that closes gaps, optimize Automation in Manufacturing layout, factory build, equipment installation, Manufacturing execution, data analytics, and associated Quality related activities.
- Lead and collaborate in standardization for equipment automation, method analysis, system layout, fixture and tooling, ergonomics.
- Lead and collaborate with cross functional teams in the incorporation of SPS, MRL and other usage of Method analysis, System layout, robot simulation, and other tools to optimize Manufacturing Engineering and Operations producibility.
- Collaborate & lead with cross functional teams to assure machine specifications for purchase of equipment align with Automation and safety needs both current and future state.
- Lead team to create, document, and implement training required for any related automation initiative.
- Lead and empower the automation team to create and execute on technical maturity and project plans that align with the vision, roadmap and deployment strategy.
- Be key member in capital quoting, budget, costs, quotes, spend, investment and financial return for factory startup, reorganization, and expansion.
- Lead the automation team to develop metrics to monitor and report on health of transformation progress at all levels of related initiatives.
- Effectively communicate and influence difficult and unique objectives, including status to plan within and outside of the organization, and various levels of management, including executive level.
- Assure proficiency documentation and advancement of the automation organization.
- Lead and assure the automation team works within CORE, promote principles and contribute to achieving/maintaining goals.
- Ensure World Class safety culture is maintained and respond to all EH&S requirements within procedures and guidelines.
- Promote corporate code of ethical standards and business practice and company policies.
- Provide a high level of communication and cooperation with team members.
- Keep current on status and recent developments in the plant / industry / profession.

Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree (technical degree and relevant experience considered)
10+ years of experience (Manufacturing Engineering, Ops, Project Mgmt, Quality or equivalent) - OR an Advanced Degree with 8+ years of related experience
- 10+ years of experience in CAD and/or Production Lifecycle Management (PLM/TeamCenter) software packages.
- Strong leadership Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Self-motivated, persistent, and focus on results.
- Able to multi-task, work through and clear roadblocks for others.
- Proven experience managing complex projects in the field of Industry 4.0, digital transformation, automation and/or related areas.
- Smart Factory principles, technologies and/or techniques
- Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making and problem-solving.
- Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve project objectives and deliver high-quality results.
- Demonstrated ability to develop business cases and Return on Investment (ROI) analyses
- Demonstrated technical background with an understanding or hands-on experience in hardware, manufacturing, software, firmware, and electronics development
- Continuous improvement mindset

Qualifications We Value:
- NC programming experience, PLM, CAM, NX, Team Center, Solumina G7, SAP and related systems.
- Technical proficiency in Complex Manufacturing activities.
- Experience working in an aerospace manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Understanding of Pratt & Whitney / RTX Business processes and how they align to customer requirements

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
