Senior AcupuncturistAdvanced Functional Medicine of Austin / 360 Jasmine Acupuncture & Wellness CenterPosition OverviewWe are seeking an exceptional Senior Acupuncturist with extensive clinical experience and advanced expertise in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to join our team at 360JAWC Clinic. This is a leadership-level position designed for a highly skilled practitioner who demonstrates mastery in acupuncture techniques, comprehensive patient assessment, and integrated treatment protocols. The ideal candidate will bring not only technical excellence but also a commitment to clinical innovation, patient education, and the advancement of acupuncture practice within our clinic and the broader healthcare community.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Assessment & DiagnosisConduct comprehensive patient consultations, gathering detailed health histories and performing thorough TCM assessments to identify the root causes of physical pain and psychological conditions.Synthesize presenting symptoms with constitutional patterns to develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.Diagnose a wide range of conditions, including chronic pain, musculoskeletal disorders, hypertension, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and other acute and chronic health concerns.Utilize advanced diagnostic techniques, including palpation, tongue and pulse assessment, and functional movement evaluation to inform clinical decisionsAcupuncture Treatment & Therapeutic ModalitiesAdminister precise acupuncture treatments tailored to each patient's specific condition and treatment goalsApply advanced needle techniques, including retention times, manipulation methods, and point selection protocols that reflect current clinical best practicesIntegrate complementary therapeutic modalities such as moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, and acupressure to optimize treatment outcomesProvide specialized acupuncture massage and myofascial release techniques to reduce discomfort, improve circulation, and enhance tissue healingMaintain treatment records documenting clinical findings, interventions, and patient response to establish continuity of careAnatomical Knowledge & Clinical ExpertiseDemonstrate advanced understanding of human anatomy and basic physiology as it relates to acupuncture point location, contraindications, and treatment safetyStay current with emerging research on anatomical variations and their clinical implications for acupuncture practiceApply knowledge of meridian systems, collateral pathways, and organ system relationships to develop sophisticated treatment strategiesEnsure all treatments are delivered with appropriate safety protocols, including infection control and adverse event preventionPatient Education & Lifestyle CounselingEducate patients on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and how acupuncture works to restore health and balanceCounsel patients on the significance of diet, exercise, sleep, stress management, and lifestyle modifications in supporting treatment outcomes and preventing diseaseDevelop personalized lifestyle recommendations that align with each patient's condition, constitution, and capacity for changeProvide clear, evidence-informed guidance on herbal supplementation, nutritional support, and complementary wellness practicesEmpower patients to take active roles in their healing process through patient education and collaborative treatment planningQuality Assurance & Professional DevelopmentMaintain the highest standards of clinical excellence and evidence-based practice across all treatment modalities and patient populationsParticipate actively in continuing education opportunities, including acupuncture seminars, professional conferences, workshops, and peer consultationContribute to clinic quality improvement initiatives and help establish or refine best-practice protocols for patient careMentor junior practitioners and support their professional developmentProfessional Standards & Patient CareMaintain professional boundaries, ethical conduct, and confidentiality in accordance with all applicable regulations and clinic policiesBuild strong therapeutic relationships with patients based on trust, respect, and cultural sensitivityManage patient flow efficiently while ensuring each patient receives a thorough, unhurried assessment and treatmentCommunicate effectively with other healthcare providers and participate in integrated, multidisciplinary care when appropriateRepresent 360 Jasmine Acupuncture & Wellness Center / Advanced Functional Medicine of Austin professionally in all patient interactions and community engagement activitiesRequired QualificationsLicensure & Credentials: Valid state acupuncture license; passing score on the NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) examination or equivalentClinical Experience: Minimum 5+ years of full-time clinical acupuncture practice with demonstrated expertise in treating complex and chronic conditionsAdvanced Training: Advanced or Master's level training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, or Oriental Medicine from an accredited institutionAnatomical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of human anatomy and physiology as applied to acupuncture practiceTechnical Proficiency: Mastery of acupuncture needle insertion techniques, sterile protocol, and advanced therapeutic modalitiesPatient Assessment Skills: Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and adjust protocols based on patient responseCommunication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
