Position Summary...

Walmart Global Tech team enables our stores and eCommerce operations across the world. The platforms that we build are used in most of the markets where Walmart has its presence. Global Marketplace team focuses on building Seller Platforms and interfaces which enables sellers across multiple countries to sell and generate business on eCommerce platforms.

We're looking for highly skilled and experienced Principal Technical Program Manager with a breadth of skills who can create and execute a plan for new strategic initiatives as well as driving the global technology platforms across Global Tech. You should be able to drive high level design, solutioning & delivery of program with our next generation platforms keeping scalability, robustness and security aspects in focus. The platforms we build will be used by customers & sellers across multiple countries with each of them being a multi billion dollar business for Walmart. What you'll do:

• As a part of the Marketplace Program Management team you will impact the shopping of our customers to build solutions that will enable a seamless, highly scalable omni-channel experience for a multi-billion dollar enterprise.

• You impact the Walmart business directly in driving technology strategies to enable the sellers with the best user experience to onboard, list items and sell and grow their business by selling on Walmart eComm platforms.

• You may have to travel to the United States and other international locations, working closely with Business Stakeholders, World Class Product Teams, and fellow globally based engineering teams, bridging the gap between business and technology worlds.

• Your main responsibilities will revolve around managing large software development programs. You will work closely with architects, engineers, product, design and business leaders to ensure the successful completion of these programs' To do this, you will need to have a deep understanding of software architecture and software design principles.

• You will also need to demonstrate influential skills by building strong relationships with stakeholders across Walmart, ensuring alignment on roles, responsibilities, and programs project cadences. Your role will involve defining goals, stage gates, critical delivery paths, and key deliverables for large-scale programs that incorporate multiple programs with dependencies across multiple areas of work, timelines, and resource constraints.

• Efficient engineering resource utilization and delivery will be a priority, and you will need to simplify and clarify priorities and create plans with appropriate milestones for advance planning and executive buy-in.

• You will also establish a resource capacity allocation process and tool to transform the planning process. Your problem-solving and decision-making skills will be crucial in navigating any setbacks or obstacles that may arise. Overall, as a seasoned professional, your expertise and passion for driving technical projects to success will be invaluable in this role at Walmart Global Tech.

• Drive quarterly planning efforts, effectively negotiate against priorities, resources, and timelines to secure commitments from partner teams.

• Create the environment for effective collaboration across 4ITB by establishing appropriate forums and enabling Ways of Working improvements.

• Establish processes that drive efficient planning and execution.

• Work with product and engineering in solutioning of new capabilities, driving clarity in product requirements.

• Create a detailed program plan with milestones and timelines and maintain program documentation.

• Resolve ambiguous situations and bring clarity to the program teams.

• Manage program scope, including changes and scope creep ensuring that the program stays aligned with its original scope.

• Monitor program progress against the established schedule and provide weekly status reports to the program stakeholders.

• Proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation plan and manage cross-functional issues to unblock program team.

• Ensure monitoring and alerting are set up and ensure effective operational excellence frameworks are implemented.

• Ensure that the program adheres to the organization’s standards, policies, and best practices.

What you'll bring:

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent.

• Overall 15+ years of technical experience with 8+years of experience as a Technical Program Manager in software delivery within a related industry managing aggressive schedules and significant business impact.

• Experienced in system/platform design concepts ,architecture, UX design, services, APIs, and technologies.

• Build positive relationships and collaborate with product managers to understand target personas and business process needs, which you will then translate into features and user stories that engineers will leverage to iterate products quickly.

• Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with a love for data and solving complex problems.

• Expertise in change & risk management methodologies, project management tools, techniques, project tracking tools, dashboards, and reports

• Strong communicator in both verbal and written forms and are equally adept in communicating upwards, outwards, and downward.

• Deep understanding of JIRA, JIRA Align, BigPicture, GenAI etc.would be advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+years of experience as a Technical Program Manager in software delivery within a related industry managing aggressive schedules and significant business impact.

• Project Management Certification.
