About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Global Systems Administrator – Manufacturing & Core Infrastructure to join our Manufacturing IT Infrastructure team in Chester, South Carolina.

This is a newly created position offering the opportunity to take ownership of the technology environment supporting two manufacturing facilities. You will play a hands-on role in maintaining, supporting, and optimizing core infrastructure and manufacturing technology while working closely with IT, engineering, manufacturing teams, and external technology partners.

What You Will Do

• Provide day-to-day on-site support, administration, troubleshooting, and optimization of manufacturing and operational technology systems.
• Manage and optimize servers, enterprise storage, virtualization platforms, and cloud, on-premises, and hybrid infrastructure.
• Support manufacturing systems and industrial automation platforms, including Siemens environments.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, network, server, cloud, and manufacturing technology issues with a strong focus on uptime and resiliency.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for infrastructure and manufacturing systems.
• Support infrastructure patching, lifecycle management, capacity planning, backup, and disaster recovery initiatives.
• Lead troubleshooting, incident response, and service restoration activities during critical outages.
• Work closely with engineering, manufacturing teams, IT stakeholders, and external vendors/integrators.
• Participate in infrastructure and manufacturing technology projects across the Chester facilities.
• Research and recommend infrastructure technologies aligned with business and operational requirements.
• Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, process improvement, and improved system performance.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation covering systems, configurations, procedures, and operational standards.
• Support cybersecurity, access controls, permissions, compliance, and enterprise technology standards.
• Participate in the organization's after-hours/on-call support rotation.
• Travel occasionally to other manufacturing locations as required.

What We Are Looking For

• Approximately 10 years of relevant IT infrastructure, systems administration, or manufacturing technology experience.
• Strong hands-on experience supporting manufacturing or operational technology environments.
• Experience working in a 24/7 enterprise or manufacturing operation.
• Strong knowledge of cloud, on-premises, hybrid infrastructure, and data-centre operations.
• Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi 6.x, 7.x or newer.
• Experience administering Windows Server 2016, 2019 or 2022.
• Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, and Linux.
• Experience with enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery technologies.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals and infrastructure monitoring.
• Experience with Siemens WinCC and TIA Portal is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk is an asset.
• Experience with ThinManager, thin-client environments, VDI, or Terminal Services is an asset.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with manufacturing, engineering, IT, and vendors.
• Ability and willingness to work on-site in Chester, South Carolina.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

Travel & On-Call Requirements

The role is primarily based on-site in Chester, South Carolina.

Approximately 10% travel is anticipated, including an initial visit to Mississauga to meet the broader team and occasional travel to other manufacturing locations.

The position also participates in an approximately one-week-in-three on-call rotation, with after-hours coverage generally from approximately 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. ET before support transitions to Europe.
