Please note: The salary range above represents this position’s earning potential. The anticipated hiring range for this position will be $53,177 to $70,945, based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.


The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is made up of approximately 1,300 sworn officers and approximately 900 support personnel. The Police Department was established in 1922 and today is responsible for providing service to a County with a population of over one million people.


WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Montgomery County Police Department’s Special Investigation Division is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented administrative professional who thrives in a structured environment and excels at handling routine office tasks with accuracy and professionalism. This role is perfect for someone who is dependable, adaptable, and committed to keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly

Duties include, but are not limited to:


  • Creating electronic and hardcopy confidential case files, while making sure files are always up to date.


  • Accurately entering data into divisional databases and spreadsheets.


  • Completing standard administrative transactions, including purchase orders, applications, and invoices, while ensuring all work follows established procedures and office practices.


  • Providing clerical assistance and assisting in day-to-day operations.


The Principal Administrative Aide must exercise discretion at all times and maintain strict confidentiality and care in all assignments


Please Note:  To obtain employment with the Montgomery County Police Department, you will have to pass a Law Enforcement background check that takes 8 weeks to complete.  If successfully complete, you will receive a conditional offer of employment and then will be scheduled for medical review and drug screening. Final offer will be given after all steps are successfully completed.

Education: Graduation from high school or High School Certificate of completion recognized in the State of Maryland.  


Experience: Two (2) years of progressively responsible office support experience.


Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted.

  • Experience working within a Police Department.
  • Experience handling case-related information, reports and other sensitive materials.
