What You Can Expect:

As the Regional FCL Capacity Assistant Manager, you will actively support developing the Rhenus ocean product environment. You will support building our carrier portfolio, assume responsibility in driving initiatives and projects within the ocean product team, gain a deeper understanding of the ocean freight market and use that know-how to help Rhenus achieve its growth targets.

Product Management:

  • Take the leading role in shaping and translating long-term product strategies into executable projects and/or products.
  • Drive strategic and operational projects to support the global ocean freight teams at both local and regional level.
  • Lead, organize, and plan the assigned product development project, which includes business process, workflows, and user analyses.
  • Define and evaluate wireframes, validate proof of concept, and work closely with the development team upon the further request in the assigned projects.
  • Setup of SOPs, policies & standards in cooperation with all stakeholders & creation of global standards.
  • Develop a methodology for KPIs and performance reporting in Qlik Sense, with the goal of improving data quality and enhancing transparency.
  • Constantly manage user feedback (internal and external), and lead user research and analysis to translate key findings into input that allows technical and product teams to deliver improvements.

  • Initiate beta, pilot programs, and A/B testing initiatives on products.
  • Align with the roll-out teams to ensure that the product is rolled-out successfully, and assist on implementing post roll-out support structures to ensure business continuity.

Communication & Stakeholder Management:

  • Constantly manage communication flows and feedback (internal and external).
  • Coordinate with Asia Pacific Product, Sales and Operations teams on forecasts, priorities and capacity requirements.
  • Ensure all relevant teams are aligned with the Global product strategy.
  • Create, manage, prioritize, and successfully communicate product projects and roadmaps to different stakeholders to ensure alignment and action.
  • Ensure the on-time delivery of tasks in the implementation phase by making sure all the project’s requests from the business perspective are fully understood by the relevant teams.

Team Management:

  • Ensure the team works at its best in terms of collaboration and work-dynamics.
  • Assist team members when support is needed.
  • Proactively solve and eliminate all the barriers or limitations to get tasks done.

Booking Desk, Allocation & Carrier Management:

  • Provide full daily overview of the booking desk, including monitoring booking flow, ensuring compliance with trade guidelines, and maintaining visibility of bookings routed through the desk under the carrier contracts established for both NAC and FAK businesses.
  • Continuously monitor and follow up on weekly allocation of the carriers’ contracts to prevent unused space, dead-freight exposure and to support full utilization.
  • Participate in weekly coordination with the carrier allocation and APAC Capacity Teams.
  • Follow up directly with carriers on booking rejections and raise disputes when required.
  • Manage and reconcile quarterly penalty contract performance, monitoring committed versus actual volumes, identifying potential penalty exposure, validating carrier claims, and coordinating final settlements with internal and external stakeholders.

Rate Management, Selling Guidelines & Systems:

  • Maintaining the FAK, SOC and ISC selling guidelines, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates.
  • Coordinate the timely uploading of contracts into Catapult, including follow-up on updated surcharges and error checking after overseas uploads.
  • Coordinate the upload of selling-guideline data into Wisor and ensure Wisor rates remain aligned with the approved selling guidelines.

Tender, Commercial & Project Support:

  • Validate ports and inland-ramp selections for global tenders.
  • Provide commercial teams with accurate sailing schedules.
  • Provide on-demand support for product and operational activities as requested.
  • Assist with administrative tasks for local and global product projects, including compiling detention and demurrage tariffs by carrier and location.

What You Bring:

  • Have excellent English communication and presentation skills; bilingual a plus.
  • Highly analytical and comfortable dealing with high growth and complex business challenges.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or similar.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience outside of an academic and internship setting, preferably in logistics, freight forwarding or supply chain industry
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Possess an outgoing, supportive, and proactive personality in reaching out to others and completing tasks in a timely manner
  • Be able to think outside the box and be able to execute tasks with a high level of detail
