Job Description:

Are you a proven manufacturing leader who knows how to bring together people, process, and performance to deliver results? Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations at our Willoughby, OH facility.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity with responsibility for driving safety, quality, operational performance, customer experience, and long-term profitability. You'll lead a manufacturing organization of approximately 60 employees while partnering closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Sales, and Scheduling to optimize production and strengthen overall site performance.

What You'll Do

Lead Manufacturing Operations

  • Provide leadership and direction for daily manufacturing operations with a strong focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and customer needs
  • Lead and support a team of approximately 60 employees
  • Provide direction to supervisors, engineers, technicians, and production staff
  • Develop and execute operational plans that support business objectives and long-term profitability
  • Ensure production activities are aligned with company policies, procedures, and operational standards

Develop & Inspire High-Performing Teams

  • Provide visible, hands-on leadership across the manufacturing operation
  • Set clear expectations and create accountability for performance
  • Build strong relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Support supervisors and employees in overcoming operational challenges
  • Foster a culture centered on safety, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Drive Operational Excellence

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, cost, and delivery
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and overall operational performance
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts related to production and quality challenges
  • Establish and communicate performance metrics to monitor operational effectiveness
  • Use data, problem-solving, and sound decision-making to drive measurable results
  • Lead and support projects that improve capacity, efficiency, and manufacturing performance

Champion Safety

  • Make safety a visible priority throughout daily manufacturing operations
  • Champion site safety initiatives and reinforce safe working practices
  • Promote strong housekeeping standards and 5S practices
  • Partner with site leadership to maintain a safe, organized, and effective manufacturing environment
  • Reinforce accountability for compliance with company policies and operational standards

Align Production with Customer Demand

  • Partner closely with Sales and Scheduling to align manufacturing plans with customer requirements
  • Balance production priorities with capacity and operational needs
  • Help ensure the organization delivers a strong customer experience while meeting business objectives
  • Collaborate across functions to resolve challenges that could impact production, quality, or delivery

Partner Across the Site

  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Maintenance, Sales, and Scheduling
  • Build alignment between production priorities and broader site objectives
  • Partner with technical teams to troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment challenges
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization to drive results
  • Support initiatives that strengthen overall site performance and profitability

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing leadership or management
  • Strong leadership experience managing teams within a production environment
  • Background in plastics or a related manufacturing industry preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to drive results through effective problem-solving and decision-making
  • Solid understanding of industrial equipment and mechanical systems
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

The salary range for this position is $95,300-119,100. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
