Description of Position

TPG is looking for a senior Workday integration professional who can design, build, troubleshoot, and support enterprise integrations between Workday and downstream HR, payroll, benefits, security, reporting, analytics, and third-party vendor systems. The Workday Integration Architect / Senior Workday Integration Lead will own the design, development, testing, deployment, support, and continuous improvement of Workday integrations across the enterprise ecosystem. The person in this role will partner closely with People Operations, HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, IT, Security, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate, secure, and scalable data flow between Workday and downstream systems.

This position requires a hands-on integration builder who can also operate as a solution architect, translating business requirements into integration design, technical specifications, testing plans, error-handling processes, production support routines, and long-term integration strategy. The ideal candidate has deep Workday integration expertise and can support both implementation work and steady-state operations.

Principal Responsibilities

Integration Strategy & Architecture

  • Design scalable Workday integration solutions across HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Security, Recruiting, Time Tracking, Absence, and downstream third-party systems.
  • Create integration architecture patterns for inbound, outbound, real-time, scheduled, event-driven, file-based, API-based, and vendor-managed interfaces.
  • Partner with HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, IT, Security, and vendors to define system-of-record ownership, data movement, mapping logic, security controls, testing scope, and operational handoffs.

Build, Configuration, and Delivery

  • Build and maintain Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connector, Cloud Connect, PECI, PICOF, RaaS, SOAP, REST, XML, XSLT, calculated fields, custom reports, and BIRT where applicable.
  • Develop integrations for downstream payroll providers, benefits carriers, finance/ERP platforms, banking partners, tax systems, learning systems, recruiting platforms, data warehouses, reporting platforms, and internal business applications.
  • Configure integration system users, security groups, authentication, OAuth, certificates, SFTP/API connectivity, launch parameters, calculated fields, and transformation logic.

Workday Extend and Prism Analytics

  • Design, build, support, or partner on Workday Extend applications that improve business processes, custom workflows, user experiences, notifications, dashboards, and data interactions.
  • Develop or support Prism Analytics datasets, data pipelines, transformations, and dashboards that combine Workday data with external data sources for workforce, payroll, benefits, finance, and operational reporting.
  • Use Workday Extend and Prism as strategic enablers for downstream system integration, analytics, process visibility, and operational scalability.

Production Support and Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor scheduled integrations, troubleshoot failures, perform root cause analysis, resolve mapping defects, coordinate vendor fixes, and reduce downstream operational risk.
  • Own integration regression testing for Workday releases, configuration changes, tenant refreshes, implementation releases, payroll cycles, and vendor updates.
  • Create support documentation, technical specs, runbooks, knowledge transfer materials, and controls documentation for audit and operational sustainability.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of Workday experience, with deep hands-on delivery experience in Workday integrations.
  • Proven ownership of Workday Studio custom integrations and integration lifecycle delivery from requirements through production support.
  • Experience integrating Workday with downstream payroll, benefits, finance, vendor, data, security, and third-party systems.
  • Strong experience with EIB, Core Connector, Cloud Connect, PECI/PICOF, RaaS, calculated fields, custom reports, XML, XSLT, SOAP, REST, and SFTP/API-based data exchange.
  • Strong understanding of Workday security for integrations, including ISUs, integration system security groups, domain security, authentication, certificates, OAuth, and role-based access.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex production integration failures, mapping issues, file/API connectivity problems, and vendor handoff defects.
  • Demonstrated ability to document integration designs, technical specifications, test scripts, runbooks, controls, and knowledge-transfer materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on Workday Extend application design, configuration, development, support, or platform ownership.
  • Hands-on Workday Prism Analytics experience, including data blending, transformations, dashboards, datasets, and operational analytics.
  • Experience supporting global payroll integrations, multi-country payroll providers, compensation changes, tax files, benefits deductions, and effective-dated transactions.
  • Experience with HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Finance, Recruiting, Time Tracking, Absence, Security, and Reporting integrations.
  • Experience with external ERP/finance platforms, banking integrations, tax engines, benefits carriers, payroll vendors, data warehouses, and reporting tools.
  • Workday certifications in Integrations, Custom Integrations, Studio, Extend, Prism, or related Workday technical areas.
  • Experience working in high-control environments with SOX, audit, data privacy, and change-management expectations.
