Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician
Status: Nonexempt, Full-Time (hourly)
Reports To: Facilities Maintenance Supervisor
Starting Compensation Pay: $20/hr
Purpose: The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and repair activities on Caritas facilities to ensure the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of agency programs. This position works under the supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and supports the upkeep, functionality, and appearance of agency properties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance on agency buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair facility systems including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, and related building components.
- Complete work orders and identify maintenance issues to ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and well maintained.
- Assist with inspections, maintenance projects, and vendor or contractor activities related to building systems and equipment.
- Operate tools, machinery, vehicles, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Travel to various agency locations to perform maintenance work and support facility operations.
- Perform grounds maintenance activities, including landscaping, snow removal, and exterior building upkeep as needed.
- Respond to on-call maintenance requests and facility emergencies in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with staff, vendors, contractors, and supervisors while maintaining positive working relationships.
- Work independently and collaboratively to support agency facilities and operational needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/PREFERRED:
Degree/Field Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Resource Management: Ability to manage materials, equipment, facilities, and time effectively to ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and within established timelines.
Technical: Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repair techniques, equipment selection, installation procedures, quality control processes, operational monitoring, and facility systems maintenance. Ability to diagnose and repair issues involving electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, and building systems.
Trauma-Informed: Must display a willingness to adopt trauma-informed interventions, principles, and practices and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development in trauma-informed care.
