The Position
EHS Manager Italy and Denmark HubJob Summary
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Leads functionally Environment, Health and Safety activities and resources across the sites of the Hub to ensure the regulatory compliance of the operations, the continuous implementation of Imerys policies, protocols and culture,with the primary objective of preventing accidents and incidents occurrence.
JOB SCOPE/DIMENSIONS
Part of the Business Area Performance Minerals EMEA which scope is: 80 sites in 24 countries - 3700 employees - €1.2b revenue.
Italy & Denmark Hub involves 8 factories, 4 open pit operations, 1 underground mine and 1 logistics platform, including circa 300 employees, 100 M€ sales
In Italy, the sites are located in Foggia, Avezzano, Carrara, Corsico, Morgongiori (Sardinia), Pinerolo, Modena.
In Denmark the sites are located in Fur and Mors islands.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Alongside the Hub Director, responsible for Environment, Health, Safety practices and results across the hub sites and teams
Prioritize EHS annual objectives aligned with the BA roadmap and Imerys Safety System.
Promote a strong Safety culture across the hub.
Support sites to drive continuous improvements by prioritizing improvement action plans and risk prevention
Lead accident management process by ensuring timely communication, mobilizing the site teams to conduct investigation, root cause analysis and to define in collaboration with the site managers and local EHS managers the corrective action plans
Ensures industrial and mining operations of the hub are run in compliance with local environmental regulations, CSRD and Imerys guidelines by periodically conducting EHS assessments and gap analysis with the site teams.
Collaborate with Hub Operation managers, Site managers and on-site EHS managers to deploy improvement initiatives and to provide EHS capex guidance.
Promote a proactive networking for sharing and migrating good practices across the hub
Key interfaces: ensure tight coordination with Hub Managers, BA EHS managers, sites managers and site local EHS contacts for the deployment of EHS programs and priorities
The Hub EHS manager can be acting as EHS manager of the lead site of the hub.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Ability to travel up to 50% of his/her time in Italy and Denmark
Key competencies
Good knowledge of Safety management Systems and industrial operations
Well versed in local and industrial EHS regulations
Engaged, self driven, pragmatic, action and results oriented, structured work approach and problem solving
Good communication skills to interact with shopfloor employees,managers, contractors, consultants, authorities and to collaborate with Imerys functions
Ability to explain, create synergies, influence, coach team, lead programs and projects
Continuous Improvement mindset
Ideal background/ experience
Engineer or equivalent
Good level of English & Italian
Minimum of 5 years experience of EHS management, in industrial operations
Typical profile
