Description

The Opportunity

The University of Central Florida (UCF), College of Medicine Faculty Practice at UCF Health in Orlando, FL is seeking three (3) full-time primary care physicians in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine to join an expanding multi-specialty academic practice. Applicants should be exceptional clinicians who have demonstrated a value-based philosophy of patient care and are seeking an exclusively outpatient care environment. The majority of the assignments for the selected candidates will be to provide direct patient care while building their outpatient practice in collaboration with multiple specialties. Being faculty in the College of Medicine, they may have small roles for teaching or precepting medical learners and other health-related trainees (e.g., for medical students and interprofessional education), as well as participating in clinical research (e.g., sponsored pharmaceutical trials). In that the UCF Health practice is growing in size and scope, the faculty assignment is likely to include a role in Federally Qualified Health Clinics (FQHCs) which would involve providing care in a team that embraces other health care disciplines and involves advanced practice practitioners. The positions are non-tenure track clinical appointments at the rank of assistant, associate or professor of medicine. These are full-time positions at five days a week, with protected non-face-to-face patient care and administrative time.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have an M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical or osteopathic school.

  • Candidates must be eligible for licensure or actively licensed to practice in the state of Florida.

  • Must be boarded or board eligible in their specialty upon completion of training. Board certification would be expected within two (2) years of completion of training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • It is preferred that the candidate have at least three years of experience in a busy high-volume outpatient clinic practice as well as prior experience in rendering care that involves physician extenders.

  • Previous experience working with medical as well as interprofessional health care learners in a clinical outpatient setting is desired.

  • Candidates with publications or other scholarly output are encouraged to apply.

Additional Application Materials Required:

UCF requires all applications and supporting documents to be submitted electronically through the Human Resources employment opportunities website, https://www.ucf.edu/jobs/. In addition to the online application, interested candidates should upload a curriculum vitae and cover letter.

NOTE: Please have all documents ready when applying so they can be simultaneously uploaded. Once the online submission process is finalized, the system does not allow applicants to submit additional documents later.

The selected candidate will be required to submit official transcripts (and, as applicable, U.S. degree equivalency evaluations) documenting the conferral of their qualifying academic credentials.

Questions regarding this search should be directed to: Brittany Hofmann at [email protected].

Special Instructions to the Applicants:

All applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer. H-1B visa sponsorship is not available for this position, and the university cannot accommodate H-1B transfers or employment-based visa processing for individuals currently sponsored by another employer.
