Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
Supervise sports facilities and set up for sports inside gyms, overseeing sports activity for players and citizens of all ages.
- Open Facility, including bathrooms
- Set-up for games (balls, scoresheets, timecards)
- Set-up volleyball posts/nets/officials chair, clipboard
- Supervise participants, children
- Protect equipment, facilities
- Call 911 for ambulance, if needed
- Notify supervisor of broken equipment
- Maintain equipment and report needed repairs.
- Open, close & secure sports facilities.
- Inventory and stock equipment & supplies.
- Report attendance.
- Maintain safety at facility and report emergencies to proper authorities.
- Direct players and participants to assigned areas.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- A demonstrated history of excellent work attendance.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from participants, regulatory agencies, elected officials or the community.
- Good time-management skills.
- Ability to coordinate simultaneous activities safely.
- Ability to work autonomously without immediate supervision, handle unexpected challenges.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Reliable transportation
- Previous experience in facility supervision/management.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE POSITION:
- Possible stressful situations working with the public.
- Walking, sitting, standing, talking, hearing, reaching, carrying, lifting, pushing/pulling, writing, grasping, bending, twisting.
- Duties involve the regular, and at times sustained, performance of heavier physical tasks such as walking/running, bending, stooping, kneeling, leaping, jumping down, standing in place or continual walking, lifting and carrying of moderate to heavy items (including volleyball posts & nets) on a consistent basis.
- Exposure to moving objects such as volleyballs.
- Pulling/Pushing Bleachers in and out
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned work areas.
- Exposure crowds of people, working with the public indoors.
- Exposure to odors from cleaning products, floor strippers and waxes.
- Exposure to moving objects such as recreation equipment may occur.
