Description

Description

Fervo Energy is applying first-principles engineering and a manufacturing mindset to geothermal power — an industry that has operated the same way for decades. We are not building one-off power plants. We are building a product: GeoBlock, a standardized, repeatable geothermal generation unit designed to get cheaper, faster, and more reliable with every iteration.

Supply Chain is not a support function here. As Fervo scales, our job is shifting from spot sourcing for one-off needs to a supply chain built for a known, recurring cadence — with the right carriers, routes, and import processes lined up in advance so equipment lands where and when it's needed.

Fervo's Logistics team manages the end-to-end movement of equipment, materials, and components from manufacturers and vendors to active project sites within USA. The Logistics Coordinator owns the pricing intelligence behind Fervo's freight and transportation decisions — running RFQs and tenders, negotiating carrier rates, applying Incoterms knowledge across air, ocean, and domestic transport, and keeping shipment and pricing data clean and current. In addition, this position will be responsible for email monitoring and organization, tracking updates, non compliance issuance, logging and follow through and maintaining accurate reports and internal trackers. The role touches Procurement, Engineering, and Site/Field teams daily, so strong organization, initiative, and follow-through are essential.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Pricing, RFQs & Negotiation

  • Run RFQ and tender processes for freight and transportation services across truckload, flatbed, ocean, and air modes, domestic and international.
  • Solicit and compare quotes from carriers, forwarders, and brokers; negotiate rates and terms directly with carriers.
  • Apply Incoterms across air, ocean, and domestic transport to evaluate quotes and where cost/risk shifts between Fervo and vendors.
  • Build rate comparison sheets and landed-cost analyses to support carrier selection and PO awards; track spend and reconcile invoices against quoted rates.
  • Lead periodic rate negotiations using historical spend, lane volume, and carrier performance data.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner with Procurement, Engineering, and Site/Field teams to gather shipment specifics (weights, dimensions, delivery windows, Incoterms) needed for accurate pricing — proactively closing information gaps.
  • Serve as the point of contact between internal stakeholders and external carriers/forwarders/brokers on pricing and shipment questions.
  • Support Import Compliance Manager with customs clearance coordination and expedite time-sensitive site material requests alongside the Logistics Specialist.

Data & Systems Management

  • Maintain accurate shipment, PO, Non Compliance, pricing records and internal trackers
  • Log, track, and update non-conformance issues related to freight, shipping, and carrier performance, escalating as needed.
  • Prepare and distribute regular status reports

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field — or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years in logistics, freight pricing, transportation, or supply chain (energy/oil & gas experience preferred).
  • Experience running RFQ/tender processes and negotiating rates directly with carriers.
  • Solid working knowledge of Incoterms across air, ocean, and domestic transport.
  • Strong Excel skills; excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working across internal teams and external vendors.
  • Collaborative, forward-thinking, self-motivated team player who takes ownership.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and comfort applying them to pricing, data entry, and reporting workflows.

Preferred

  • Experience with a TMS (e.g., Cargowise, GoComet) or ERP platform (SAP, Oracle, etc.); building/configuring a TMS or system integration a plus.
  • Experience with project cargo, oilfield services, or capital-project logistics, and U.S. customs clearance processes.
