The VP, Conference Strategic Partnerships has a primary focus of supporting Gartner Conferences’ collaboration with our BTI Sales and Global Services & Delivery organizations, ensuring Conference programs, enablement and strategies are in place to capitalize on driving Growth and Retention for Gartner. This role will lead the teams responsible for supporting Conference enablement activities and overall support of regional Sales and Services teams in their journey to conferences, while leading global initiatives to ensure effective collaboration. This role will also play a key role in ensuring the Conference organization has a clear understanding of Gartner’s Sales and Service priorities and how they can best leverage conferences.

This role will:

  • Collaborate with Global Operations partners across GTS, GBS, and Global Services and Delivery on perennial and business critical Conference initiatives

  • Lead teams responsible for regional Conference enablement development and execution for Sales and Services

  • Support teams with Enablement strategies, encouraging continuous improvement and ideation to ensure we are driving more effective and efficient delivery of information and outcomes

  • Partner with Conference Marketing to best identify challenges and opportunities that we need to get ahead of with our sales and service partners on conference registrations

  • Document and deliver regular business updates on behalf of the Sales and Services orgs to Conference leadership to ensure we remain up to date on performance, priorities and challenges

  • Partner with Strategic Partnerships Ops team as well as Conference Centers of Excellence to represent Sales and Services perspectives and drive process improvements

  • Lead preparation and development of meeting material for presentations; represent Conferences in key leadership meetings as needed.

  • Utilize a curious personality to root out and solve issues, working with partners across the business to solve problems and remove barriers to sales and service partnerships

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: 10-15+ years of progressive business experience, preferably in sales/services, sales/services operations or sales/services enablement role(s).

  • Exceptional problem-solving capability: You have a proven track record of solving complex problems, thinking creatively and using data to tell a story

  • Relationship builder:  You have the ability to develop strong credibility with sales and service leaders and stakeholders, demonstrating continuous understanding of their business objectives, helping translate those across the business by truly  harnessing the power of collaboration

  • Commercial acumen and experience in working with Sales; building business cases and getting buy-in from senior leadership

  • Fast-paced: You operate with a sense of “urgency” and can excel in an execution-focused environment.  You are incredibly organized, enabling you to operate at scale, at pace, and with precision.

  • Passion: You are intellectually curious and have the hunger to proactively and independently identify the opportunities where you can drive the most impact for the business

  • Drive / Self-sufficiency: You have a demonstrated ability to own a problem and aggressively drive from problem statement to solution in a self-sufficient capacity, even in a matrixed environment

  • Communication skills: You’re an excellent and structured verbal and written communicator with exceptional presentation and platform skills

  • Executive presence: You have the ability to effectively engage, lead and influence senior Gartner executives - this role offers high visibility and access to senior Conferences and Gartner leadership

  • Strong core values: You demonstrate integrity, collaboration, a no-limits mindset, objectivity, and consistent results using global best practices

  • Leadership experience: You’ve led successful initiatives, engaging teams and key stakeholders across business functions and all the way up the organizational ladder

  • Influence: Must demonstrate a high level of collaboration and strong negotiation skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred

  • Institutional knowledge and/or strong understanding of Gartner BUs and functions preferred

  • Ability to travel domestically & internationally as needed, approx 20%

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 221,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
