Join Our Team as a Field Technician – Environmental Monitoring
Location: Various Service Areas | Full-Time | IAS Laboratories
Are you passionate about the environment and enjoy working outdoors? IAS Laboratories is seeking a dedicated Field Technician to support our environmental monitoring services across a range of dynamic field locations.
About the Role
As a Field Technician, you will play a key role in conducting routine and ad hoc environmental monitoring in line with client specifications and regulatory protocols. You’ll be responsible for a wide variety of on-site sampling, environmental assessments and compilation of reports, helping us deliver high-quality data to our clients and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental sampling of groundwater, surface water, leachate, and drinking water.
- Perform Q-value assessments (Biological) on surface waters, effluent, sludge, grass, and soil.
- Liaise professionally with clients and represent IAS Laboratories positively in the field.
- Maintain and calibrate field equipment, vehicles, and PPE to the highest standards.
- Compile detailed, high-quality reports for submission to governing agencies such as the EPA.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including proper PPE usage and incident reporting.
- Manage personal schedules efficiently and suggest improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.
Qualifications & Skills
- Level 8 degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Earth Science, Ecology, or Natural Resource Management. Alternatively, a level 6 qualification will be considered alongside relevant professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of environmental sampling techniques (training provided).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Interest in working outdoors in varying conditions.

Ability to commute/relocate:
- CO. Carlow, CO. Carlow: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Work Location: In person
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently when required.
- Full clean driving licence required.
- Valid Safe Pass is an advantage (can be arranged if not currently held).
- Previous on-site experience is a plus but not essential.
- Experience with Labworks would be helpful.
