Our growing network includes 80+ veterinary practices across 17 states, spanning general practice, emergency, specialty, mixed animal, and other veterinary services. Behind every great veterinary team is a strong support team, and our Finance & Accounting professionals play an important role in helping our practices operate successfully.
We are looking for a Revenue Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team in Austin, Texas. This is a hybrid position that offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with the accounting team while supporting financial operations across our multi-location veterinary organization.
About the Role
As a Revenue Accounting Specialist, you will support the Staff Accountant with daily revenue accounting, accounts receivable, cash application, payment processing, banking, and reconciliation activities for Innovetive Petcare and our veterinary practices.
This role is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers, researching discrepancies, and managing high-volume transactional accounting activities. You will work with daily revenue and payment activity across multiple veterinary locations and help ensure transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Enter or import daily revenue and accounts receivable transactions into the accounting system for veterinary practices.
- Post and apply cash, check, and credit card payments accurately and timely.
- Reconcile daily banking and cash activity and research unreconciled or outstanding deposits.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies, deposit variances, and other accounting issues.
- Monitor and organize a shared accounting inbox, responding to or routing requests appropriately and promptly.
- Prepare banking, revenue, payment, and transaction documentation to support the Staff Accountant.
- Review and analyze credit card chargebacks and coordinate appropriate follow-up.
- Prepare check deposits and related journal entries.
- Assist with gathering, downloading, and organizing data used to prepare financial schedules, reconciliations, and reports.
- Provide backup support for other accounting functions and recurring processes to ensure timely completion of department responsibilities.
- Follow established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Provide responsive, professional, and courteous service to colleagues and veterinary practice teams.
- Participate in special projects and other accounting-related activities as assigned
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of accounting, revenue accounting, accounts receivable, cash application, payment processing, bookkeeping, or related administrative experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial data and transactions.
- Excellent organization, follow-through, and time-management skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-volume, multi-location environment.
- Strong problem-solving and research skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across Finance, Operations, and our veterinary practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience working with an ERP or accounting system preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with financial and business information.
- A proactive approach and willingness to jump in and support the team when needed.
In this role, success means keeping daily accounting transactions accurate, timely, organized, and reconciled. You'll help ensure revenue and payments are properly recorded, deposits are accounted for, discrepancies are researched and resolved, and the Staff Accountant has the information and documentation needed to keep our financial processes moving.
You'll be someone the team can count on to spot discrepancies, follow through on open items, communicate clearly, and keep the details moving—even when managing a high volume of transactions across multiple locations.
