Loss Adjuster / Insurance Claims SpecialistPrimary Purpose:
To investigate, inspect and analyse insurance claims to validate and adjust payments. This role includes conducting full lifecycle analysis of claims and physical site visits.
Responsibilities
- Conduct loss assessments and investigations for Property, Liability, Cargo, Construction, and other insurance claims
Visit loss sites to evaluate damages and determine the extent of loss
Review insurance policies and analyse coverage, terms, conditions, and exclusions
Communicate and coordinate with insured parties, insurers, repair vendors, and other stakeholders involved in claims
Facilitate claims resolution and settlement discussions with insurers, reinsurers, and relevant parties
Prepare clear and accurate claims reports and recommendations
Perform other claims-related duties as assigned
Requirements
Fluent in Japanese and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, analytical, and report-writing skills.
Ability to analyse complex situations, assess losses, and provide practical recommendations.
Candidates must possess at least one of the following:
Several years of experience handling Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance claims; or
Licensed Loss Adjuster in Japan; or
Several years of experience in Construction, Plant Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications
TOEIC score of 800 or above.
Knowledge of insurance policy interpretation, coverage analysis, and claims handling processes.
Experience working with insurers, reinsurers, brokers, contractors, and other industry stakeholders.
Ability to conduct site inspections and prepare detailed loss assessment reports.
