This position is responsible for developing new analytics capabilities, providing data-based insights to Signet Transportation. A successful incumbent will support initiatives with proactive analysis, reporting, and dashboards that enable the achievement of functional objectives, including Freight & Transit Loss Budget Planning, Month End Financial Reporting, Holiday Peak Planning, Predictive Trend Analytics to mitigate Transit Loss, and Risk Mitigation. This critical role will support the Manager of Transportation Finance & Analytics to improve connected Transportation workflows with automation, leveraging available tools and technologies. This position ensures appropriate shipment data and cost information are available to enable data-driven decision-making regarding transportation options and work on process improvements resulting in freight cost savings.

Major Responsibilities

  • Analytics Development: Evaluate and analyze freight and transit loss trends to identify forecasting demand and minimize freight costs by implementing predictive analytics. Significantly enhance Transportation analytics by leveraging a passion to identify available raw data and creating clear, actionable, business-impacting reporting.  Expand existing Excel & Access intelligence into automated and on-demand dashboards in Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI, and similar development tools. Prioritize, with Transportation & Supply Chain Leadership, to develop and implement new technologies and analytics to better serve our customers, while ensuring appropriate shipment data and cost information is available to create data-driven decision-making regarding transportation options for customers.  Focus on how untapped data could be transformed to deliver our organizational objectives and drive system efficiencies.

  • Financial Delivery: In collaboration with Finance, AP and Supply Chain business teams, along with guidance of Transportation Leadership: support fiscal year Transportation (Freight & Transit Loss) Budget Planning Process and corresponding period adjustments. Improve processes for monthly/annual budgeting methodologies to deliver increased accuracy in a highly complex multi-brand, omnichannel business. Provide recommendations to leadership on continuous improvement, driven by data. Oversee cost analysis to identify lowest cost transportation options and analyze data to identify cost savings opportunities to reduce Freight expense.

  • Optimize Transportation Data: Work with Supply Chain Planning, Field Operations, and Inventory Management to develop next-gen distribution, which is predictive and based on discrete Brand/Market intelligence.  Champion best practice Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) principles, creating innovative offline solutions that mirror these practices wherever system functionality does not currently exist. Work collaboratively with Transportation leadership, IT, and AP to streamline & automate the intake of Transportation vendor invoices and assign at the brand level for AP reporting.

Position Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research/Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent work experience.

Acceptable Job-Related Experience: Data Analytics, Predictive Data Modeling, Transportation, Supply Chain Planning, Finance

Years of Job-Related Experience:  4+ years experience in Supply Chain Analytics or Business Analytics.  Solid understanding of accounting principles.

Technical/Other Skills: Alteryx, Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), SAP, Data Analysis (SQL, Python, R Statistics, Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects), Problem Solving, Ability to work independently, Strong Communication Skills, Interpersonal and Organizational Skills, SAP.
