Community Transportation Driver

Locations: Manchester & Derry, NHEmployment Type: Part-TimePay: $18.00 per hour, paid biweeklyRegular Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 20 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hoursHiring ImmediatelyCurrent OpeningOn the Road to Wellness is seeking a dependable, personable individual to join our Peer Support Agency team in a unique role combining community transportation, peer support, participant engagement, and opportunities to support programming within our walk-in centers.This is not a traditional driving-only position.Transportation is the primary scheduled responsibility, but this position is part of our broader peer support team. The right candidate will have opportunities to engage with participants, provide peer support, assist with groups and activities, work additional midday hours when available, and become cross-trained within other On the Road to Wellness programs.Regular ScheduleThe primary transportation schedule is:Monday through Friday8:30 AM – 10:30 AM Morning transportation — assisting participants with getting to the walk-in center2:30 PM – 4:30 PM Afternoon transportation — assisting participants with returning homeApproximately 20 regularly scheduled hours per weekTransportation responsibilities alternate between our two Peer Support Agency locations:Week 1: Derry, NH Walk-In CenterWeek 2: Manchester, NH Walk-In CenterThe rotation then repeatsThis split schedule also creates opportunities for employees who are interested in picking up additional hours between transportation shifts.More Than TransportationWhile safe and reliable transportation is an essential part of this position, the role provides an opportunity to become meaningfully involved in peer support work.Depending on organizational needs, availability, training, and employee interest, additional hours may include:Providing one-on-one peer supportEngaging with participants within our walk-in centersFacilitating or co-facilitating peer support groupsSupporting wellness activities and other participant programmingAssisting with community engagement and special eventsHelping participants connect with community resources and supportsProviding additional coverage within the Manchester or Derry Walk-In CentersEmployees may also have the opportunity to be cross-trained to work within our Step-Up Step-Down residential program on a per diem basis, creating additional opportunities for hours and experience within On the Road to Wellness.Community Outings & EventsOur organization provides regular opportunities for participants to connect with their communities through outings, recreational activities, educational opportunities, and special events.This position will occasionally provide transportation and peer support for these activities.Community outings and events typically occur approximately once per month and may take place between the hours of 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM.Availability for every outing or event is not expected; however, flexibility and interest in participating are strongly encouraged.About On the Road to WellnessOn the Road to Wellness is a non-clinical, peer-led mental health organization that has served adults in Manchester and Derry, New Hampshire, since 1988. Our work is rooted in the belief that healing, recovery, and wellness are strengthened through connection, choice, dignity, hope, and meaningful community.We provide free peer support services to adults ages 18 and older who are experiencing, have experienced, or are at risk of experiencing mental health challenges.
