POSITION SUMMARY
The Cost Accounting Manager is responsible for performing the day-to-day responsibilities of the Cost Accounting function, as well as performing related responsibilities associated with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes. The role is integral in supporting the continual growth of the Cost Accounting function and ensuring accurate and timely accounting and analysis.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Manage Capital Expenditure tracking and reporting. Prepare monthly fixed assets journal entries and reconciliation.
• Analyze cost accounting data and assist with monthly cycle count / annual physical inventory count. Plan and manage annual physical inventory and related adjustments.
• Assist Finance leadership in the preparation and presentation of cost reduction recommendation and provide cost-related data in support of business decisions.
• Prepare journal entries related to cost accounting as required during the month-end, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare monthly inventory reconciliations and other accounts impacted by the Cost Accounting function.
• Assist Director of FP&A in planning and forecasting the cost of sales, inventory and capital expenditures.
• Manage special projects, including implementation of new software and processes.
• Perform analysis of freight variances and related monthly freight accruals, providing guidance to Accounts Payable team.
• Review open PO receipts not invoiced to determine if receipt accrual require adjustments
• Foster working relationships cross-functionally, particularly with engineering, and procurement, and IT teams.
• Manage inventory and COS related requests from the internal / external auditors, procurement and other departments.
• Setup and lead the S&OP process working with the operations team.
• Assist with internal, external and SOX audits.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
• Experience working in a Manufacturing environment
COMPETENCIES:
• Strong financial analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Working knowledge of SQL is helpful
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5-7 years previous costing and general accounting experience
• Ability to communicate and express ideas clearly and concisely, both written and verbal
• Willingness to spend time in operations/production areas to learn product and processes
• Understands the importance of goal attainment and meeting various deadlines • Ability to gather and analyze financial data resulting in recommendations to business leaders

Compensation:
Up to $140k + benefits + stock + 401k + bonus
