Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, safety, and cost efficiency. This position works closely with production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and engineering teams to ensure products are manufactured according to specifications while meeting operational and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes, workflows, and plant layouts.
- Analyze production data to identify opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and increased efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement and other operational excellence methodologies.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support new product introductions by developing manufacturing processes and validating production readiness.
- Investigate production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Conduct root cause analysis for quality, safety, and operational challenges.
- Evaluate and recommend equipment, tooling, automation, and technology solutions.
- Collaborate with quality teams to ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and internal quality systems.
- Participate in capital projects, including equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and validation.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop strategies to improve throughput, yield, utilization, and overall equipment utilization.
- Support safety programs and ensure manufacturing processes comply with environmental, health, and safety standards.
- Train production personnel in the new processes, equipment, and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency with CAD software and manufacturing process design.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Ability to generate and deliver presentations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality systems.
